I found time to play poker tonight. I am pretty busy so sitting down and playing for even just an hour is pretty nice, which I did tonight. I think I only logged about 300 hands, but whatever, I am not hardcore right now - when I come home from work, I'm pretty tired, but 10pm is ideal pokerstars fish-hour so I play until I can't think anymore - which usually lasts only about 30-60 minutes. This means no MTTs or even 180s or SNGs. But that is good because it encourages me to play really good poker @ 25NL six-max. I have also changed my 10-tabling ways, I'm just chillin at 4 tables right now, it makes it easier to think and at this point in my life I really just want to make myself a good poker-thinker and then in September I can afford to be an unemployed student - and I will have hours every day to put in massive multi-tabling sessions.

Tonight I made a handful of donkey-bluffs, although it really helped my table image, I got paid off on a couple sick hands... here are some interesting...

My laptop is back up and running and I've played 2 sessions of NL25 cash games, although I think I only logged about 300 hands at most, I think in total I am up like $10. I have been playing only 4 tables, but I've been thinking a lot more about my decisions because I haven't played much lately. I've also played 6-max exclusively and I really love it, I can play 27/17 which feels 100% natural for me. I love raising those suited gappers from LP, which you can't do as much in full-ring.

In the first session one of my tables was down to 2 players, but I was up against a standard ABC passive-fish who didn't know how to make value bets. I had AK in the SB, which I was pretty happy about b/c he wasn't playing many hands OOP, but he was overplaying his hands from the button. I raised 5x BB after he limped from the button.

The flop came KJ7 with 2 clubs, I represented a continuation bet and made it about 3$, which he called. I had about $30 in my stack and he only had about 15 left. I checked...

My fear of being internet-less is over after about 2 days :D My mom(s) have moved successfully into the new house, it's a big upgrade for them, and we just brought my 2 cats over from the old house, so the move is done! I gotta stay here until the end of the week, then I can go back home, but Rogers set up our internet really quickly so I'm happily up and running. NOt playing poker, however, I'm still using a crappy macbook.

I took my laptop to a computer shop and this time it actually powered up and someone did some tests and apparently my hard-drive was in worse shape than any hard-drive the guy had ever seen. Needless to say absolutely everything is unrecoverable - but the good news is that all I need to do is buy myself a new hard drive and I'll be set. For this laptop I don't need more than a 20GB system, so the repair will be less than $50, so I'm pumped. I just need to find a good place to pick up a hard-drive, I'm leaning towards factory direct.ca In fact, I'm going to do that...

I dumped $120 at the NL40 cash game last night...


Busted with QQ, I smooth called the flop and 2-bet push on the turn when the board was 10-9-5-2 rainbow and ran into AA, I played it not in a way that would allow me to fold :(

I flopped bottom set with 55 on a 5 7 9 board, got all-in against 8-6 and didn't catch my boat

Late in the night I limped UTG with AJs, MP raises it up and a short stack pushed in for 25, I decided to go all-in, MP called. I was up against AJo from MP and KJs from short stack... Flop has a king and MP hits runner runner flush :(

I did rebuy again, I lost a small pot, then I doubled up with AA, flopped top 2 and make a couple of crying calls on turn/riv against bottom set to go back down to $40, so -120 for the night... I don't feel bad about the loss cause it was just cooler-town.


In other news, my mom's moving tomorrow and as a result, I'm gonna be w/o internet for a week - I wont even be able to check my facebook :(((( so enjoy your week away...

Yeah I love poker today. OMG it sucks only playing once a week, but when I play I'm ubermotivated, so whatever. I honestly feel like I am going to mutilate the 25NL players once I get back online. I want to make people hurt. Sooon, I wont be able to get a new computer until may, but I've got a busy april coming up. In fact, I'm gonna be pretty busy this summer, my g/f is moving back to my town and I"ll be working lots and golfing in my free time. But in septemeber, people are going to hurt. Once I go back to being a full-time student I will have all the time in the world to play poker :D

I killed the NL40 cash game tonight, I cashed out at a rediculous $330 without having to rebuy or top-up. +$290 = 7.25 buyins profit after about 4 hours of live play.

We usually play with 10ish people, but tonight we had 8 at the most, and the game was 6 handed for 3/4ths of the session, so I was playing super LAGgy donk, and I was hitting hands like a motha-f*ck. And people bluffed into me like...
