Day 2 - life carry on

Permanent Linkby MrDarling on Sat Jul 21, 2007 1:03 am GMT

I'll start from the result :
Day 2 :
BR $1000
Day profit: +$40

Actually played some decent poker yesterday. Changed to 2 tables of Holdem $50NL and 1 Omaha.
My morning session I finished $150 up.
Then the night session came, lost all of it in 3 hands, then manage to make my day profit just before calling it a day. Maybe I should stop with those night sessions? Or maybe I should play some s&g or MTT once I make a nice day profit?

Anyway my big losing hands :

Day 1 of the rest of my life

Permanent Linkby MrDarling on Fri Jul 20, 2007 2:04 am GMT

Well, maybe I should stop setting those goals.

First session (2 hours) broke even, mainly due to omaha, since I managed to lose around a buyin in Holdem
Second session I made $150 profit (2 big Holdem hands)
Third session, wait for it, $250 down. Yes, I managed to donk down $250. Lots of silly BIG bluffs in holdem, kept paying a guy when I shouldn't have. Couldn't fold my TPTK etc.... Also, lots of suck out in omaha which results in FPS. I finished the session up on all the tables, so it could have been worse.

Biggest mistake is not setting my self a max mistake. Should take a break once I make 2 mistakes or something.

I was planning to post my 2 big holdem hands, but who the f*ck care any more :)

As for your questions, I play 6-7 hours a day (I think)
for example playing 2-3 tables Omaha and 1 table Holdem I played 1150 hands omaha and 880 Holdem.

Day 1
BR $940
Day profit : -$100

Now project - $100 a day

Permanent Linkby MrDarling on Thu Jul 19, 2007 4:49 am GMT

Well, its been awhile.
Had lot of internet problems as we moved 4 month in the last 9 month, but now we are finally settled (for a while) and I got lots of time to play poker.

Have decided to start this daily blog, seeing if I can average $100 a day and making this poker a part of our income.
I will vary the games I play and the amount of tables and levels according to success.
At the moment I play:
2-3 tables $25 PL Omaha hi
1 table $50NL holdem.

If I manage to strictly play the nuts in omaha its easy money. At this levels most player are not too aggressive drawing so it doesn't cost that much if your flopped nuts gets cracked. also, they tend to pay when you hit.
At $50 they are much more aggressive and often you need to put your stack in with top set against a combo draw. And since you are only 52% ahead at best, its not that much fun.

Holdem is my game. I feel that if I keep my cool I can make it.

Day 1
current BR : 1040$

The swings

Playing slightly out of my BR (around $300 playing the $25NL) every Buyin lost is a big damp on my BR. But I really can't bring my self back down to the $10NL unless my BR will go under $100.

Anyway, had a couple of great days, where I think : I can do this. I can break this level and maybe even make $100 a day (which will be enough for me as a starter) then I get the coolers :

Set of A's
Full Tilt Poker Game #2241543800: Table Bazmorda (6 max) - $0.10/$0.25 - No Limit Hold'em - 7:44:44 ET - 2007/04/19

MADSKILLS421 posts the small blind of $0.10
monza71 posts the big blind of $0.25
The button is in seat #5

March progress

Permanent Linkby MrDarling on Mon Mar 19, 2007 3:28 am GMT

Well February was a learning month. I discovered that I can do real well in small S&G, but was still losing in cash. One need to be very focus to play both styles at the same time. i would win a couple of S&G's then will go to a ring game feeling like I can play the same , make moves etc..

I think I made a small profit in February. But I mainly grew due to rake back. God I love those.

March started real weird. We got evicted out of our house (The government didn't find it safe all of a sudden) and found our self in a transit house without Internet connection. Started to go to internet cafes to play poker 2-3 times a week.
I sit down, open 3 S&G's : $5 18 people, $5 9 people and $5 6 people and am doing pretty good in those. In fact, I just started playing some $10 S&G's .
Yesterday was my best session to date : sitting with $420 . opened up 3 $10 S&G's (6, 9 and 18 players) busted pretty quick out of the 6 players (not my fault, somebody decided to push into...
