Okay well basically I've come to the conclusion that I have some major leaks in my game. That's going to be pretty obvious since I’ve only been playing seriously for a 2-3 weeks now. Nevertheless, I dislike failure so have decided to step away from the tables for a while and focus on some more literature so that I can come back stronger.

After this morning’s bad string of SnG's - enough was enough - it was the final straw...

I got in my car and drove all around town trying to find the Harrington books; no alas. Oh well, I managed to make a nice day of it by catching up with a friend. He seemed to think it was funny as he joked about my apparent new "gambling problem" - Hehe. I always thought I was invincible and only told him about my winnings. However, this is a turning point and I know something is terribly wrong even though there have been some big wins.

I decided to just order the books through Amazon. The delivery time to Australia is going to kill me :[

Ok, so I had a bad run last night and even though I said I wouldn't touch any more tournaments for a while, I needed a confidence boost. So, I played a little $3 single table SnG. Managed to place 3rd when I busted out on this hand. I think I couldn’t have played it any other way, and if he hadn’t hit the lucky river card, I would of been in commanding lead for head to head.

Pfff..... Deep breath.

This is going to be a hard horse to get back onto; I can tell you that much.

This downswing is killing me and i'm not even confident whether my upswings are the real deal or just donkish luck. I don't know where i'm going wrong or how i'm going to start getting on track.

I can't handle this for much longer.

Well this is my first poker related (and non-poker related for that matter) blog i've made. I think normal types of blogs are a bit silly, but this sort will be a good way to document the way i'm feeling about this great game we call poker.

I havn't been playing long at all. Me and my friends play several times a year at one anothers houses just for kicks. Hell, none of us really knew the rules and would argue over hand rankings etc :P Anyways, I always took a liking to poker (hold'em) so in the last month or so I've started to read up on lots of literature. To name a few, I read Ken Warren's book on Limit Hold'em, The Theory of Poker and have just completed Super Systems 1 (I plan to read Harrington's series also). I feel in the last two weeks I have learnt so much about the game, but I know I still have a long way to go, but hopefully my desire to learn and dedication to this game will pay off; litterley.
