Bankroll and you. Most know that it is better to learn from someone else’s mistakes rather then their own. However, I tend to disagree with this. I have only been playing seriously for about 3 months, and in that short time I spent a great deal focusing and learning about bank roll management.
I liked to pride myself on how I would painfully grind through the micro stakes to follow the rules that my BR set out. Now, I think I am an okay player in relation to the time I have spent playing, and still do. However, I foolishly went back to a game at the casino last night which was far out of my Bankroll. I had a previous win there, and thought I could conquer it again. I’m not going to say I had cold cards or anything like that. I hate it when people say that. I did think I played good poker, but it wasn’t enough and a few key hands destroyed by profit and then eventually my entire buy in. I wouldn’t have said this last night, but I now have little regrets. Sure, there is no way I can bring ... My relationship with my nearest and dearest friend is beginning to grow uneasy. I go to the casino in a rotten mood and lose $400. I get drenched on the way back to the car to add insult to injury. I am now broke and my car is running on empty, literally, and figuratively. I post this because I am closing a chapter in my life. I love this game, but am sick of living and breathing it. My mind is hurting, my relationships suffering and my finances whittling away. Good night, going to cry myself to sleep. 0 Comments Viewed 2 times The changeWell I decided to make the change from Poker Stars to Full Tilt. I wanted to use Full Tilt when I first started playing, but figured Poker Stars was the best for its micro stakes after learning about Bankroll management. Well, much has changed since then. With my huge cash out at the casino last Saturday I decided I should start a new account on Full Tilt so withdrew my money from PS, created my account and got started.
I had big problems tracking/gathering my cash after withdrawing from PS. PokerStars made a hiccup with my transaction and put it into my Neteller account. Funny thing is, I didn't even OWN a Neteller account and was forced to create one. Cut a long story short, this created some problems with my funds and was unable to withdraw them for some time. After a few days of emails back and forth, I finally managed to explain my situation to them and a check is on the way. Yipee!! My roll is going well at the moment, sitting comfortably on $203 and handling 10NL no problems.... Okay all - I've just returned from a 4-5 hour session at the casino. This was my first poker experience at a casino. Short story: Scroll to bottom. Long story: Read on, and don't be a lazy beeatch. The game had a min buy in of $100, and a max buy in of $500; with blinds of 5 and 5. I decided to sit down with $300 after waiting a nail biting 45 minutes. I was seated at a table which was filled with some very scary looking people, and a guy with a MONSTER stack. He was sitting on around 2k. I decided right there not to mess with that guy too much. For the first 20minutes I didn't even see a flop. I was a tad scared (couldn't stop shaking) and wanted to a get a feel for the table and just understand the mechanics. I didn't mind this really, I built a strong table image of a tight player. Ok... now it's on. Dealt big slick. The action is on me. "Check or bet, sir?". I almost crap my pants.... [ Continued ] 0 Comments Viewed 2 times On my gameAs of late, I have never felt more on my game. I have only been playing tournaments and have not played a cash game in a while. I think it has been a turn for the best because I get very emotional with cash games.
Anyway, I have placed in almost every tournament I have played this week. I wanted to step up to some bigger tournaments but decided to just take a small hop to the $5.50 games from my $3.30 ones instead of racing all the way to bigger stakes; that may just ruin my hard work. God, I really hate turbo's after playing the 5.50 SnG's. The blind structure is much better, I get more time to think, and there is less pressure to be involved in so many hands, and therefore I have to make less crucial decisions that may break me. Okay, so I played a $5.50 tournament after a long streak of $3.30 placements and was a little scared of losing. Anyways, "Dear Oasis88, You finished the tournament in 1st place. A $22.50 award has been credited to your Real Money account." ... [ Continued ] 1 Comment Viewed 2 times |
