Okay been a while since my last entry. things are going great pokerwise and shit university course wise.... i basically dont do any work, but thats not a big problem i will revise and get 40% or more so eh eh eh .
Last couple of weeks has seen me play alot in the local cardroom and i have finished 14th in the wednesday night event losing AK to 44. then the thursday i came 5th for £560 and i had 20% going with ciso who also finaled and that made my net winnings for the night up to £700. On the friday 20 rebuy event i was down to the last 20 again, this time i was in a tough spot and got my chips in when i was behind. I had 2s3s in the BB ep limped and Sb completed. flop comes out 4s 5s 6d i decide to bet out small... in the hope of a caller but i didnt expect what happened, the ep limper went all in immediately... now i put him on AA KK or a set, turns out he had 78o/s and .. i didnt improve so that made me short stacked. Funyn thing was he said " i only limped your BB cos of your mat...

Yeah thought i'd do a wee update of my last couple of weeks in poker. Did A £10 rebuy at the casino last tuesday and came 2nd for £720, which was nice. I made some really good calls and even better laydowns playing my best and won a race or 2.
Played £20 rebuy on friday of last and busted out about 40th out of 80, didnt manage to get many chips together and re raised all in SB to BB when the SB raised me with A8, i had 77 and he called my all in - we were both fairly short with around 5 X the BB each.

Tonight i played $20 freezout on stars on my freind ciso's account and i managed to come 2nd for $2117. I was pretty pissed off earlier as i really feel the guy i was playing against heads up was not very good and that i should have defeated him. He kept catching miracle cards to split the pot, or hitting a pair on the river when im calling him down with K high. Then he made a freak call against me, i had 8s9s he raised 3X with position and i called. flop came 7s 10s 7d, i checked .. he...

Yeah so i'm back at university or "college" as you yanks and canadians say. Been pretty awesome really, but i wont delve into the depths of my depravity. That whole sng quest thing is dead, lol no way i can be f*cked doing that shit... went to the casino on sunday for the £30 freezout, ciso met me there and we decided to exchange 10%, if one of us won that would be about £60 for the other, nothing big really just a bit of fun. Ciso busted out fairly early when his AK couldnt beat 99. I was pretty fortunate in that i had a table full of bad players only 2 of them i knew and one was v tight and the other was a worthy adversary; he knew when it was time to gamble which is a huge edge in this competition. I built my stack up slowly never making large raises preflop and never really gambling; with my table i really did not think gambling was a good idea... when i can take many pots and get alot of value on my nice hands. Ok so last night i was supposed to get up to 40 turbos, but before i embarked on that i decided to give a $10 mtt a pop, My strategy was to gamble in the first hour to get chips or busto - i'd quite happily have gone on a turbo rampage. As it happens i didnt need to gamble, i hit J5 from the sb and AJ and JQ paid me off in full. That put me on about 4k with the blinds at 50 100, then i had AK in ep... and i limp re raised all in and was up against QQ and i won that too up to 9kish by the first break.
The next few levels were pretty unremarkable, i had no real good hands and i stole a few pots to keep my stack alive. Then i noticed we were down to 60 people and i was in the top 15. No hands and the whole table taking it in turns to raise from early position made me a short stack by the time we were down to 27. And i decided to change gears, i had about 50k and blinds were 2k 4k. That didn work either as evry time i raised the somebody obviosly found some kind of hand and re raised all...

OKAY gringos. I am going to do a quest, gone are the days of me being a loveable indisciplined rogue. WIth no sustainable roll or preferred game. I need to learn what is known as "the discipline".
I have read on another forum about somebody did 4000 sngs to achieve supernova status on stars his posts were a great read and kept me going for ages, its on blondepoker if anybody is intrested.

My quest is to 4 table the $6 turbos until i reach the $1000 mark. I have ROI of 20% after around 500 sngs, so thats $4.80 per set. But i will start this quest afresh...to reach $1000 i will need to do 208 sets, which is a total of 834 turbos.......

I need to ensure my love for mtts does not eat into my sng profits, so i will limit myself to only playing the $3 rebuy OR the $5 rebuy OR a $10 mtt, all played with a cap on the spending of $10.

I go to university on sunday so it will become clearer in a few weeks whether or not this quest will be fruitful; also the prospect of a vast student loan...
