Deuces for the win!

Live hand with severy fancy play syndrome:

I'm on the button with deuces and the CO limps, I raise cause he is fresh meat and he folds too much. SB 3-bets which he does all the times these days because he wants to defend his blind and the BB cold-calls and CO calls. Naturally I cap so can get a freecard on the flop when I miss my set (overs and any pair are gonna re-raise me anyway to get HU so betting when missed is pointless 4-ways here I think).

Flop is 3 5 9 rainbow, so as good as it gets. Checks to me and I check behind.

Turn is T, and now a flushdraw and a str8 draw which sucks ass with lowest pair. SB bets, BB calls, CO calls and I call since I got a pair and I don't think anyone else has one.

River is a 3, no straight or flush completed...weeh. SB checks, BB checks, CO bets...YESSSSS!!!...I raise...SB folds, BB folds...CO calls and let's out a little panicky scream when he sees my deuces and mucks.

SB is upset, BB is pissed off. CO looks happy.

FL Game

Played a small 4-handed small stakes FL live game and took down 45 big bets in 3 hours, we were just introducing a new guy to hold'em, so it was all just for fun. Didn't get a single good starting hand, but I flopped good and sucked out alot. Go me.

Haven't played much online, but I did take down 30 new big bets in the 0.5/1 6-max and broke even in the 1/2 full ring, so I guess it is all good.

A day at trident poker

So I redeposited on trident poker to clear a bonus there. I decided to give 6-max FL a go and it wasn't off to the best off starts. Alot of bad beats and lost pots and it was 500 hands of quite maddening poker, then I finally got a nice heater and padded the roll with 40 big bets in profit. Not many interesting hands, but I switched to a more passive line vs aggros and they paid off nicely. But to be truthful the heater came when 3-4 draws finally came in my way.

Online FL

So I grinded some online FL at party, nothing major really happened. It was mostly 1300 hands of break-even poker which I played at the 0.5/1 and 1/2 levels. Still, cleared the bonus and padded the BR with 100$, which will do. I also realize I have problems multitabling alot of tables, it gets so mechanical I get bored and do mistakes.

I guess the highligh hand was when I raised the BB of some pschy from the SB with 95o and he 3-bet. Flop was 345 and he went to war, but this guy was so insanely aggressive after the flop (PT AF 7), I called down and he had 83o. Oh well.

FL Game on steroids

Permanent Linkby tame_deuces on Thu Aug 31, 2006 7:51 pm GMT

Today's game was tough. One player hit mad hands like crazy and I was left with little to work with. Luckily a third player dumped BBs like a madman and I succeeded in a nice number of bluffs. I'd say my bluffs broke even, but got me some action on a few quality hands. I got rivered quite abit, but all-in all it was a good session. 5 hours of play netted a 20 big bet profit and I really can't complain about that.

The opponents are good and aggressive but they adjust badly to the (as Zinn0 called it) supermonkeyhyperaggro style of shorthanded limit play. They defended their blinds very liberally but one defended extremely bad postflop and another took defending postflop much to far (hey...some of the time I DO have a pair). I defended abit from the SB by 3-betting and my opponents soon copied that tactic, so when button had 2-bet and the SB 3-bet my blind for like the...NTH! time, enough was enough and I had to start capping quite liberally in the BB, button folded (!?) a couple of times...
