Blog Subject:  short session

Well, I played a short session tonight @ 2/4. The wait lists were uber long at 3/6 so I sat down at a few 2/4 speed tables. Not a bad session, I won ~$51. I also played a $16 turbo but busted early when KK lost to AQs.

Sorry, this blog isn't very exciting. You want exciting, you'll have to find Sean.

Blog Subject:  A few hands at 3/6 and a $16 turbo.

So today I ventured into unchartered territories and decided to test the water at 3/6. It went well. I played for about an hour, and logged a +16BB session. I also just finished playing a $16 turbo on Stars. I won.

Not really any interesting hands except for one at 3/6. I pick up AA utg+2. I raise, and it folds to the SB. Just when I think it's going to fold around, the SB re-raises. Nice. BB folds and I cap. SB calls, obviously. The flop brought a very uncoordinated board of rags and I knew immediately that I was getting paid. SB checks, setting up a check-raise, so I oblige him with a bet. Sure enough he raises, so I 3-bet and he caps. The turn was another rag, and SB leads out. I raise and SB calls. The river was another low rag and SB check/calls and AA takes down the pot. Oh, SB had QQ.

Good times.

So today I played about 200 hands of 2/4 and lost $61. It probably would have been a lot worse but I could feel myself starting to tilt over a bit. This, coupled with the fact that none of my big hands were holding up prompted me to cut the session short and just chill all day. I did fold AA. First time I think I've folded it. I'd have to check, but nothing is coming to memory. No, it wasn't pre.

The IRC crowd decided to play a $20+2 180 person SnG on Stars. I was up for it and played some pretty good poker most of the night. I was in the top 5 in chips most of the night until I called an all-in preflop against a medium sized stack w/66. Villain had AQ and turned a Q. I never really recovered from that hit and ended up busting out in 22nd. Kinda depressing, actually.

Just a random tidbit of the madness that is #thp on the IRC network...

Sometimes when a new person comes into the channel we will just start having a random, crazy-ass conversation...hilarity *usually*...

Blog Subject:  Lots of pok-ah

So I played a fair amount of cards today. 650 hands of 2/4 and I also donked it up with some of the IRC/THP crowd in a $1+.10 mtt. Overall it was a good day. 2/4 was kind to me and I won ~52 BB's. Oh, I also managed a cash in the mtt. I'm not sure how this happened as I only played around 20 hands total, but I took 84th out of 850 or so. I made $0.61. Craig/Crack busted me when he called my all-in push with KQo with A3o. I guess it's only fair considering I'm 2-0 against him HU.

Overall, the transition back to Pokerstars has been a smooth one. I'm also starting to think that FL is my game. It's funny really, because when I first started playing it, I hated it with a passion and couldn't fathom how anyone made money at it.

I'm silly like that sometimes.

SO I'm still waiting on the cashout from Titan to go through so I can start playing on Stars again. Hopefully it goes through in the next 20 minutes or so because Stars is running a bonus until midnight tonight. They've also released a beta-test version of their next software upgrade which includes resizeable tables (yay) and table themes. I'm totally down with the resizeable tables. Especially for what I have planned once I get back in the action. 3 tabling 15+1 turbos and a table of 2/4FL because well, thats how I roll.
