Hmmm a songI haven’t played much in the last few weeks. I spent a few days in Abu Dhabi and have been really busy at work since. I haven’t had chance to do much else, I usually read for a 30 minutes'ish before I go to bed, but I’ve even been too tired to do that as well.
Of what little poker I have played I got lucky a few times and won a few good pots. But on the flip side I think I’ve been playing far too many hands and basically dwindling my stack. I guess with everything going on, I simply haven’t been playing my ‘A’ game. 9 hours on the cash tables = +$19 Update; I don't know what's going on with me recently. I seem to be consistantly losing money early on in the session and then recovering nicely towards the end. Tonight my pocket aces lost me my whole stack when I pushed all-in on the turn (after raising preflop and betting on the flop) to see the other guy call with K2 and giving him two-pair. I reoaded, and gradually clawed my way back to +$2. Then, just like ... [ Continued ] 0 Comments Viewed 3 times Cha cha slideNothing to report. I'm just an average guy at an average disco watching average people line up and dance to the cha cha slide song.
Played 2 hours tonight and won $18. I played loose aggressive for the first hour and I think a few players sussed me out. So, for the last hour I sat tight and only played premium hands. It worked out ok and i gradually made a bit of money. 31 hours play. 180 seater sng’s = -$30.80, 9,18 & 45 seater sng’s = $0, cash tables = +$132.20 0 Comments Viewed 3 times Day tripperI had a dream last night and I woke up before the situation was resolved. It’s been bugging me all day, partly because of the lack of detail and partly because of the situation itself.
I’m sat in a large online MTT. I’ve built up a decent stack. The guy sat to my right also has a big stack and decides to start bullying me. I gradually get more and more annoyed and eventually I flip. It starts off with him in the SB stealing my BB bets a few times. I have poor hands and am therefore not too concerned. But after this goes on for a while I decide to fight back. So, on the following rotation I re-raise him. He responds quickly by re-raising all-in. I fold. On the following rotation he raises and I just call. We see the flop. He leads out with a big bet on the flop and I fold. On the next rotation, once again he raises and I call. We see the flop, he leads out on the flop, I raise him and he re-raises me all-in. I fold. On the final hand, once again he raises me p... The game had everything. -I gave up my trips on the river to a massive all-in bet with a potential straight on the board. -I called a pot sized bet on the river holding 68 clubs and three clubs on the board and win. -I hit a straight on the flop and someone puts me all-in (mmm, let me think!). -I pushed all in on the flop with two pair and got called by someone who had trips, get runner-runner cards and win with a flush, he then gives me loads of abuse. -I even get pocket 6's and hit two overcards on the flop, yet still call half-pot bets on the turn and river and win. The ironic thing is; my wife has gone out with the girls tonight, so I had loads of time to play with out any interuptions. Therefore I was thinking about entering a 180 seater sng. However, I got bored waiting for it to start, so unregistered and hit the cash tables. I haven't played for a few days so I feel quite good. The money I made obviously makes the feeling slightly... The difference was tonight, I had to laugh!
After my big loss last night, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t on tilt. Therefore my game plan tonight was to simply sit back a bit more and play a tighter game. I just wanted to stay out of trouble and come away around evens. It started off laughable and continued that way. It was early on in the game. I didn’t have any real reads. I’m in the BB with 57 off-suit and hit a straight on the flop (468). I bet, the other guy raises, I re-raise and we both get all our chips in the middle. He was holding 84 off-suit, an 8 arrives on the turn and I need to re-load. The same guy 20 minutes later and I raise pre-flop with 88, he calls. I hit trips and bet small, he folds. Another 20 minutes pass, I’m in the BB with 83 off-suit and hit a full house on the flop with 4 limpers. Do I get any action? Of course not. I win a very s...
