The boys are back in town

Permanent Linkby jimmer on Fri Sep 12, 2008 5:35 pm GMT

My roller coaster ride continues.

The game had everything.
-I gave up my trips on the river to a massive all-in bet with a potential straight on the board.
-I called a pot sized bet on the river holding 68 clubs and three clubs on the board and win.
-I hit a straight on the flop and someone puts me all-in (mmm, let me think!).
-I pushed all in on the flop with two pair and got called by someone who had trips, get runner-runner cards and win with a flush, he then gives me loads of abuse.
-I even get pocket 6's and hit two overcards on the flop, yet still call half-pot bets on the turn and river and win.

The ironic thing is; my wife has gone out with the girls tonight, so I had loads of time to play with out any interuptions. Therefore I was thinking about entering a 180 seater sng. However, I got bored waiting for it to start, so unregistered and hit the cash tables.

I haven't played for a few days so I feel quite good. The money I made obviously makes the feeling slightly sweeter!

Changing the subject slightly, I'm thinking about working a little harder on the blogging. As part of this process, I'm thinking about trying to earn money to blog. I appreciate it needs to prove quite a bit before that will ever happen. I haven't got a clue about this sort of thing, so if anyone has any ideas then please let me know. I've already put the question to the forum and the replies basically say "Don't bother". Feedback is good, so I don't mind these comments, however much of the success I have had over the last ten years is because of my ability to 'think outside the box'. Simply, I believe there is a solution to every problem, not a problem with every solution. I'm not for one moment suggesting this is going to be easy, but I'm sure it is possible. I need to research this a bit more. I will keep you posted.

80 minutes poker and I made $36

25 hours play. 180 seater sng’s = -$26.40, 9,18 & 45 seater sng’s = $0, cash tables = +$101.20

Good things come to those who wait!

what i would suggest if you really want to go ahead and do this is just start blogging... but you got to make sure to have something that keeps track of the traffic on your blog... once you get the traffic the adverts will come...

Thanks for your comment Ensano. I've had many thoughts today on how this would work. I've come up with some reasonable ideas, but most of them have massive holes in them at the mo.

I will keep you posted.

i would also suggest if you're serious and to prove you're serious start your very own website for your blog... you can provide links to various forums (cough)... and also revenue from pokersite signups... also if you use one of those free blog providers i doubt you'll be able to sell advertising on them....

oh... reminds me of something someoen did a few years back... he started a website and had a space on the main page with 1M pixels... he told people he was selling ad space at 1$ a pixel.. by the end of the year the space was full...

if you just want money don't really think about content... just find a gimmick that generates traffic.... selling ad space is all about traffic...
