Sigh, no cardsPlayed a few SnGs tonight and an MTT and was card dead in every single one. In each of them I had nothing the entire time and whenever I'd get a hand I'd either get beat, get no action, etc. Last tournament I was in I had three playable hands the entire time (AQo from LP, bad flop and knew I was beat - KK, no action preflop - AQo, hand I went out on as I was short-stacked and went all-in preflop and lost to 22)
Been pretty frustrating, I'm not really sure how to fix the problem. If I get a few decent hands early I can often play very well the entire way, often getting into the top tier of players. But, if I'm completely card dead I find it hard to get any momentum until I actually get a hand as I don't want to take ugly risks. I suppose I'll need to look at my early tournament strategy and see if I'm playing too tight but I really don't think I am. I'm tight but aggressive and tonight I just didn't get anything to play with and just sat around chip average everytime, eventually trying to make a move and going out. Anyway, I'm a little undecided about what to play right now. My main goal is to get a BR to play the $5 SnGs but I'm having a tough time moving up. In tournaments I've been card dead a lot, or hitting unlucky breaks (KK runs into AA, etc.) where as in cash I can usually do better in the long run, but it's a major grind and at the $0.01/0.02 stakes it's tough to really make a decent profit regardless of the cards - hard to get paid off it seems. Will likely mess with some cash tonight and attempt to get back some that I lost tonight and maybe head into another $1 SnG and attempt to make something happen for the night. Update: Wow, unreal! Played another SnG (I can't wait to get to $5, sick of these 45-person ones) and got lamed out again. I'm shorter stacked due to a suckout earlier, I got All-in w/ AJo from SB and get a caller w/ Q8o! Of course though, he flops the straight and I'm out. Formerly th3pac
