Big stake plans and poker woes

Permanent Linkby tame_deuces on Sun Sep 24, 2006 3:59 pm GMT

So from time to time I'm pondering about going for play at the higher stakes. Like now recently I've redepoed what was left of my bankroll and started grinding it out. No big problems there, I have played like...2k-3k hands and gone from 550$ -> 800$. But I was planning to play alot more hands, now I just play a max of...300-500 hands now and then...which is nothing.

Which makes me wonder if I should ever bother with going 'semi-pro' and gun for getting rolled the higher stakes, but my problem is that I don't know if I actually want a hobby/life that involves sitting in front of my computer mindlessly playing poker alot of hours every damn day.

Poker is fun, poker is interesting and I know enough of myself to know that compared to most, I am by now a good player...but I'm seriously starting to doubt if I have the mentality needed to grind this game out for hours on end.

Well, I'm just raving on some thoughts that blur to my head...enough is enough.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.
