FL Game on steroids

Permanent Linkby tame_deuces on Thu Aug 31, 2006 7:51 pm GMT

Today's game was tough. One player hit mad hands like crazy and I was left with little to work with. Luckily a third player dumped BBs like a madman and I succeeded in a nice number of bluffs. I'd say my bluffs broke even, but got me some action on a few quality hands. I got rivered quite abit, but all-in all it was a good session. 5 hours of play netted a 20 big bet profit and I really can't complain about that.

The opponents are good and aggressive but they adjust badly to the (as Zinn0 called it) supermonkeyhyperaggro style of shorthanded limit play. They defended their blinds very liberally but one defended extremely bad postflop and another took defending postflop much to far (hey...some of the time I DO have a pair). I defended abit from the SB by 3-betting and my opponents soon copied that tactic, so when button had 2-bet and the SB 3-bet my blind for like the...NTH! time, enough was enough and I had to start capping quite liberally in the BB, button folded (!?) a couple of times to that and my big blind got left alone for the remainder of the game.

I also got alot of ok hands (AT,A9,KQ,KJ etc) in the BB when button in my BB started to fold, so I got to 3-bet SB raises alot, which rules.

My opponents def blindsteal too much, they raise about 90% of their hands from the button which I think is too much versus a player like myself who defends loosely (probably too much) in shorthanded games and plays somewhat ok after the flop. Still I did some weak-ass laydowns...a notable exception was when I jammed bottom pair with J3o on the flop and jammed turn also and my op finally folded AQ high.

I made a nice turn+river call with ace high, had a nice raise for a free showdown with a PP of 4s on a K-high hurn which paid of, folded top pair (OMG!) correctly versus 3-way flop action.

I got some severe fancy play syndrome and spewed alot of chips to a player I know often has the goods when she comes into the pot.

All in all a very interesting game, and I'm glad I left with a profit today since I had quite a few 30BB swings in the game. I think I played well, but I know I have some problems with aggression and getting too tricky at times now.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.
