Pfff..... Deep breath.

This is going to be a hard horse to get back onto; I can tell you that much.

This downswing is killing me and i'm not even confident whether my upswings are the real deal or just donkish luck. I don't know where i'm going wrong or how i'm going to start getting on track.

I can't handle this for much longer.
Good night world.

Poker fire has been extinguished by xDiamond_CutteRx on Fri Oct 05, 2007 8:30 pm GMT
That's about the only way I know how to describe it. When you work 50 hours a week (plus grading) teaching middle school in a lower class area, it's hard to come home and do much of anything except crash and get ready for the next day. I don't find Poker all that interesting anymore, because even when I do have the time, I usually have better and more important things to do.

I broke about even in September, and have barely played in the last month. Online is a total bore to me now. I cashed out everything from Stars except $400. I might need it for something at some point. But right now the money does me more good in the bank or my investments. I figure I'll find some time to play live, because that can still be fun, but my fire has completely run out.

Doesn't mean I hate Poker. I still like to haunt the forum, and watch and talk about Poker. I'll try to make it into any THP games that come up. I might even turn back to Poker once school is out or I'm back to being a student...

"I'm a winner".... by Ciso_B on Wed Sep 05, 2007 3:44 pm GMT

Well, I just returned from the casino from which has been 3 consecutive days and no Ft's. I finished 18th on monday when my J J was no good vs Q J. Last night was amateur night and my ss AJ was no good vs QQ. Cue tonight - its a sound structure with 5,000 chips and 2 possibly rebuys or addon. I was down to 2,500 shortly after a draw missed and I rebought to get up to 7,500. I managed to stack a shorter stack then mine when my Qc 6c limp on button found A Q 6 flop. He had A-J, and I took his 4,000 stack.

I was up to around 12,500 then when I had Kd5d in late, I limped in after 2 limpers, button came in and the flop came Ks 10d 4d. A great flop, they check I lead 900 into around 1400 , button made it 2,900. He had me covered, I thought to myself I'm beat here for sure, but I have another rebuy, and I have a monster hand with 2 cards to come. Say he has KJ, or something in that region, if i shove maybe he ll fold and even if he calls im in sound shape to take a massive pot and be...

On the Upswing by xDiamond_CutteRx on Sat Feb 24, 2007 4:21 am GMT
Thursday night, I headed out to Cache Creek with one of my friends to play some Limit Hold'em. The $4/$8 kill game looked pretty tight, but the $3/$6 games were juicy as hell, so I sat down. My God, I almost forgot just how BAD those players are. Anyway, I was up $130 at my peak, but I cashed out for around a $61 profit after hitting a little cold streak. Still, 10 big bets in 4 hours is a good run for live play.

Today I played some $100 NL online and made another nice score, a little over a buy-in and a half. One hand, I called a small bet with a gutshot, and wound up stacking the guy when I got my straight on the turn (the Jack gave him Aces up, which apparently is the type of hand people go broke with nowadays). Won another decent pot on a flopped set of 7's... had one HUGE fish at my table, but unfortunately I was never really able to capitalize. On the contrary, he beat me out of a $75 pot when he pushed with his straight draw and drew out on my TPTK. Oh well, there will...

moving on by Ciso_B on Fri Sep 22, 2006 11:03 pm GMT
I decided to leave pokerstars properly today. It's not been a nice site for me lately, and thought It'd be good to freshen things up on a different site.

So I deposited $200 and decided to give Absolute Poker a shot. I registered for this $6k GTD pro bounty on Mark Seif.Cost quite alot really , $50 but I thought I'd play it to see how the site's software is and I like the idea of freezeout rather then rebuy for once.
Anyway, 168 runners and top 18 pay, with like $2,200 for 1st , I figure a top 3 pay will be quite nice while anything else will just boost the AP roll but not exactly make me smile.
I just busted out in 13th for like $92 I think.Ok, so only $40 profit but I am pretty happy surprisingly. I didn't get any hands tonight at all really, and people fold alot on this site!
If most mtts are like this one , I expect my mtt results to be very good.
At one stage I had very bad M , but wasnt getting called so I got my stack from like $2k to like $8,000 without a call. Finally...
