Cold Decked by xDiamond_CutteRx on Sat Nov 04, 2006 7:08 am GMT
Well, headed over to Capitol Casino in Sacramento for the first time tonight and sat down with some of the most retarded $4/$8 players I've ever seen. This game should have been easy money, but I got cold decked like none other. I literally had a stretch of 30 consecutive hands where I had absolute rags... I know because I was keeping track of what hands I got and how many I was playing per hour in what positions, etc. Anyway... 72 three times, 62 twice, 83, 84, 62, 63, 32 three times, etc etc. Just wasn't very cool. To add to that, I drew the laughter of the table who insisted I was a "rock" who "probably only plays Aces." Of course, playing only Aces would have been a better strategy than simply giving my money away to the rake, but I chose not to tell them that.

In my 6.5 hour session, I got only 4 pocket pairs: 33, 44, 88, and one QQ. Got AK only twice, won a small pot once, and bailed on the turn the other time.

Now for the fun details. My QQ hand, I'm UTG and make it...

Wake up and smell the coffee by jimmer on Wed Nov 01, 2006 5:50 am GMT
Lets not beat around the bush! I've dropped to the lower limits, because i'm losing at poker. Playing the $0.10-$0.20 tables does not now mean i'm due a win. It doesn't even guarantee i'll make a profit.

"Face facts Jim, wake up and smell the coffee" I'm playing the worst poker of my life and my target should be winning. If i can get back to winning poker, I can then start setting myself goals. Until then I'm a loser

Still looking for the lamp.

I Am a Sick Human Being by xDiamond_CutteRx on Tue Feb 20, 2007 5:59 pm GMT
Like most degenerate gamblers, I am a little sick. Last night, I had the SHITTIEST run at the high-low (Omaha and Stud) tables, losing close to $190 (at $3/$6 limit) in like 45 minutes. I had a little less than $200 left on Stars, so time to call it a day, right? Are you nuts? Time to fire up two $100 NL tables and go for broke. Although I was steaming, I had some amazing moments of clarity and managed to make back $167. I'd say turning a $190 loss into a $25 loss is pretty good.

In general, here's how Poker is going for me. I have some good runs, I make some of the best plays of my life, and then I have amazing cold decks and a few donkey moments. I guess I'm playing some Mike Matusow type Poker. How sad for me, lol.

Anyway, I was looking through hand histories, and I wanted to do a hand of the day from Omaha High-Low, and I wanted to find a hand I played absolutely ATROCIOUSLY, but I'm still looking. I'm sure it will come up again anyway, and I will post it then, because...

July Month in Review by xDiamond_CutteRx on Tue Aug 01, 2006 3:27 am GMT
31 July 2006

Well, seeing as how it's the end of the month, I figure it's time I do one of those old "Here's a summary of my month in Poker" type entries.

Here's the numbers, the red meat...
Tournament net: +$341.37
Limit Hold'em Cash games: -$150.50
No Limit Cash games: -$16.65
Limit Omaha Hi/Lo games: -$116.47
PL Omaha high games: -$12.35
7-Card Stud cash: +$30
Miscellaneous Items: +$33.50

Total cash and tournament: +$109

As for SnG's...
Games Played: 39
1st Place: 8
2nd Place: 6
3rd Place: 3
4th-9th: 22
ITM: 43.6%
ROI: 34.4%
Net profit: $147

So the grand total for the month is $256. Certainly not my best month ever, but considering the stakes it's not bad. Finishing in the black at all just kinda came together at the last minute, especially with that big tournament win. But then again, the only reason I was really deep in the red in the first place was my disastrous trip to Lucky Derby that cost me $210 and accounts for my pathetic totals in Limit Hold'em...
