A Really Good Live NL Session
Played yesterday at the local cardroom, intending to go for some 3/6 No-foldem, but there was a really good 1/3 NL going, so I sat down. Bought in for $150, cashed out for about $530.
Early on, I built up from a few good pots raising preflop and taking it down on the flop, and one rivered flush where I had a 15-outter on the flop. One guy was crazy--going all-in preflop time after time after time. I got him good. We both had about $250 going into the hand. I was in the BB with [Ah Ad]. He limped from EP, one guy raised to $11, one caller, I bump it up to $45. Villain says, "you're going to hate me," and shoves it all in. The guy who raised to $11 is now agonizing over a call and I'm just praying for him to dump in his $150 or so. Eventually he folds, the other guy folds, and I snap call and turn over my Aces. "Unless you have that," the guy says, and turns over his AK. I hold up, drag $500 pot. Biggest loss of the night, I am in the BB with [5c 5s]. One or two limps, a guy raises to $10, I call along with about four other people. $60ish in the pot preflop, big multiway. Flop is [6c 5h 3s]. I bet out $45 right off the bat. I get two callers, both of whom now have a little under $150 behind. The turn is the [Kh], so I obviously put them in. The UTG guy says "I have too many outs to fold" and ships in. The other guy folds. The river is the [7h], and he tables his [6h 4h] for a rivered flush and straight. Dang, there's another $500ish pot. I had a few other good hands, snapped off another $80ish all-in preflop when I got dealt Aces again (I must have had Aces a half dozen times, but most of the time I won with my flop c-bet). Had Queens a couple times, and double barreled with AK against a guy I knew was fishing to pick up about $60 of dead money. All in all it was a pretty good night. If not for the hand I lost with the set, it probably would have been my single biggest winning session. Oh well, it's still almost my entire share of rent in one night. So I won't complain too much. I saw. I conquered. I came.
