A Story of Tilt
Well, much to my surprise, I finished my guides for 7-Stud and Razz all in a single day. I appreciate the comments from Geno, Gunslinger, and others who encouraged me to write them. Special thanks to crack for adding his input to both guides. It's very nice to have the opinions of a mixed game player who plays more often than I do.
I've had some ups and downs at $25 PLO in the last few days... what else is new, right? Today, I just couldn't get things going. My wraps/fd's were missing, sets were getting outdrawn, overpairs+fd's getting beat, etc. I went on a bit of tilt and lost like four buy-ins. This sent me into my frequent tilt mode when I don't have a lot online: I bought into a bigger game with the intent to double up or go bust. I think that's maybe worked once in my history of playing online. Anyway, I didn't do either. Of the $88 I bought in with, I left with $34, and then went to dinner. When I came back tonight, I bought in to a $0.50/$1.00 NL Hold'em game. Got dealt KK the first hand and doubled up. Sweet. Stole and won a few more pots here and there, including one pretty big river bluff, and ended up leaving with $138. So that means I'm down $12 from my initial deposit, and I can get off of this stupid tilt mode and get back to business. Hmmm, if I meant this to be a cautionary tale, I probably should have said I went bust. Oh well. Don't tilt off deposits, no matter how small they are, kids. Tomorrow I will probably play in a couple small ($3 amd $5) rebuy tournies, and maybe a few others if I feel like it. Hope I didn't use up all my luck being a dummy tonight. Suit Up!
