Ok, as promised I'm back with a plan.

After writing my last blog, I realised my previous plans were not "plans", but more "targets". Yes, I set myself a realistic target, but I hadn't thought about how I was going to achieve them.

Now the way I see it is this; 1.I've been losing now consistantly for 13 weeks. 2.I am a long way from my target. 3.Because of factors 1 & 2, my morale is low and therefore effecting the desicions I make hand-to-hand, game-to-game. Therefore I need to do two things. 1. Become a winner 2. Set a short term target that is realistic.

My current bankroll is $435. I have set three goals. The first, is to quit after increasing my stack. Therefore if I make $1 profit, I'm going to walk away. My second goal; is to have 5 winning sessions in a row. My third is to get to $450. That's only $15 away!!!!!!!! (6 months ago I would of laughed at that comment, but times have changed. Survival is now my main concern.)

I also plan to have a "hand of the day". This will give me a chance to talk about a different hand every blog, which will hopefully give me more things to work on.

Frustration can make people do crazy things, and cashing out after making 1$ of profit is a crazy thing. I propose that you make a new goal in achieving your targets:



Before you sit down at a table, watch it for a little bit and pick a player who seems to be making mistakes on the turn/river. Sit down with position on this player and don't leave until you bust him or someone else busts him. This has been my single most effective tool in building my bankroll.

Personally, I don't think that's a very good plan, and it will not solve your Poker problems in the long term. The only way to make money at Poker is to get better at Poker. Not to say you're not a good player, but I think you're missing the fundamental nature of the game.



Poker is not a game of cards, or betting, or people, or any of that nonsense. Nope. Poker is a gameof DECISIONS. All those other things are just factors in the decisions you make. Poker rewards people who make good decisions. And the best way to learn to make better decisions is simply to get as much experience making those decisions as you can. When you have a good table, you're staying there because it's in your best interest to do so. Money not won buys the same amount of stuff won with money lost, so why would you leave a good game when it's more and more likely you'll get much MORE money than just $1.



If you're really serious about Poker, you must have only one goal: to make the best possible decision every time you're involved in a hand. Do that, and the other goals should eventually fall into place.

I guess this is something that we all aim for. However my game is definatley effected by my long term downswing.



Usually I can quite happily make good calls and judgements on most hands, however recently my heart has been beating faster at these moments and the desicions i make aren't as consistant.



I'm playing well within my bankroll, but don't really want to drop lower. Therefore my main decision is finacially based not poker based. (if that makes sense?????)



The reason I set these goals is to try and re-focus on what I'm doing and how I'm doing it.
