Some Perspective (Life is Good)
This will probably be somewhat short, not a lot of specifics to discuss.
Friday night I absolutely ran like God except in one or two key spots. I won about 6 BI in 2 hours, my best session of PLO (probably of any big bet Poker online) to date, and I felt great. This was despite losing with an overfull to quads twice (once I got in good, the other time the guy had flopped it and I got unlucky to turn 8's full). In usual style, however, that momentum didn't carry into my next day, and I lost about half of it back, mostly in PLO, the rest in $2/$4 HORSE, both of which I ran terribly in, although I'm sure I lost a few bucks I didn't have to in PLO thanks to some loose play. Lost once again with an overfull to quads (how does that happen three times in a two day span?), and had some sick beats in the other games. In Stud-8, I ended up calling down with Kings up against a guy showing 8's, just because I couldn't believe he would call my opening raise with two eights (and I didn't think he had concealed Aces), but he had and I lost. Then there was the sick runner-runner flush versus my flopped Aces up I posted. That was just sick. But it all got me thinking. I ran great one day, and terribly the next. Yet my results didn't balance out. In fact, I lost only half of what I'd won. Got me thinking back to my post about winning versus losing players, and I figure if I can win twice as much when I run like God as I lose when I run like crap, I should be just fine. Doubly so if I figure to make better decisions than my opponents when I'm merely running average. Oh, other good news. I managed to secure a grant for grad school that will cover most of my tuition, so I should be pretty set financially until at least the end of grad school, between my financial aid, my savings/mutual fund, and any money I pick up from Poker. So even on bad Poker days, I gotta remind myself, life is good. I have a wonderful girlfriend I'm about to move in with, I am about to start a grad degree for very low cost that will triple my earning power, and I get to play all the Poker I want. Any time I run bad, I should remind myself to reread this and say, "life is good." I saw. I conquered. I came.

RE:Some Perspective (Life is Good)
Life is always good Diamond; It's just sometimes we are too pre-occupied to notice!
Make sure you savour the moment mate, sounds like you are really enjoying life. Nice one. Good things come to those who wait!
