Bud Jones Style High denominated chips

Hi, I'm sort of new to poker chips. I have a "dice" set and haven't really looked at other options. I play with a bunch of guys and we want to get into the super high denomination chips - so we could push 1/2 million in the pot. Hehe.

Anyways, does anyone here have any idea what these chips are like? They are super cheap at $2.99 per 25. They are obviously plastic but are they worth the money or basically POS?

They don't look too bad really. If you wondering what they are made of the site offers an 800 number to call. Give them a call and ask. Personally if they serve your purpose it doesn't matter as long as they do the job.

You have chips with no denoms on them already, just make the blue ones worth 10K, simple as that.

I have done that, and a lot of people who come to play get confused. It's much easier when the value is stated on the chips. Plus, I liked the old WSOP chips. And if these stack well without spinners (unlike my dice chips) then I'd be fine with them. I'm not too picky about feel and sound.

do it if you want... its very cheap. You'd have to have 100 chips per person to push in a million, that seems like a lot.

to me those are ugly :P but good deal on em

Well, my idea was to get 250 $1000, 150 $500, 100 $10,000. That puts 2 million in chips in play. We are 8 guys. Sometimes, more people come, but generally 8-9 is average game.

I'm not too thrilled about the colors of the chips, but I haven't found any other options for a similar price.

The Nexgen chips look sweet, but getting labels done and so on can be a hassle.

Ok thanks guys, I will give this store a call and if things go well, I'll order me a set.

This is fine if you play just cash games but note that if you’re going to play tournaments as well having unlabeled chips is preferable because their values can change as they’re rotated through chip ups.

Well, I just want to move on from the dice chips. I've had them for about 2 years now. They spin around on a stack and are just damn annoying. I wanted something a bit better and more stable with denominations.

Later on down the road I'll get myself a small Paulson set for cash games.

I'm not against high-quality chips or anything, but I don't get ppl who bash on the dice chips. Personally I think they are awesome for anyone. I hear people complain they "dont stack" well "They slide a lot"... What are these people doing to the chips?!?! Are they washing their chips with grease?! They stack fine and i've never had them "slide" off. Just like I hear people say NevadaJacks don't shuffle well because of the rough texture, even though they shuffle fine.

I complain about people who complain.

Maybe you got lucky with your set. The consistency of the dice chips is crap at best. I think my reds have like 3 different shades. Plus, I'm just damn sick of seeing them.
