Budget Poker Set
Hello.
I'm looking for a budget poker set ($60 or less) that contains at least all the necessities. (2 deck of cards, carrying case, etc.) I would prefer a case rather than a carousel to hold the set.
What would be the best bang for my buck?
edit: i was thinking of buying this http://www.pokerchipmart.com/SpecialBuy_SA400SU115.html

There are some decent choices out there.
But...
1. How many chips do you want for $60? 100? 500? 1,000?
2. Do you want denominations on them, or plain chips of different colors?
3. Do you care how they look or feel? What's most important to you?
Some basic choices for non-denoms would be Chinese "dice" chips, or "faux" clay chips, or super-diamonds, maybe even Sopranos. For denominated chips, there are more limited choices at a bargain price, maybe High Roller four aces or royal flush or Landmarks.
Ebay is a good place to look, though there are some schlock deals and outrageous shipping out there. 5-Star has a good selection, and usually has some type of 25% sale going on (as they do for Memorial Day). Other places, too.
Here's something to start on: http://www.5stardeal.com/deals/10Expand ... -1600-500S Everything on that page for $60, before the special sale price, plus shipping.

1. i want at least 300-500 chips. (or at least 4-6 people)
2. i just want designs on them, no need for custom casino style chips, i do like differernt colors, but just the usual different colors. (blue black red green) the link you showed me to, those chips to me are a little boring in design to me to be one color.
3. feel is more important to me. but i do want a chips that are not boring in looks.

Ebay is probably your best bet, then. You should be able to get a complete set of 500 inexpensive chips with case & extras for under $50. Be sure to look at the shipping charges to get your total cost -- you can Buy It Now for $0.99 or $9.99 then see $25-$39 shipping. That's OK as long as you know the total.
You'll have hundreds of choices -- suits mold, dice mold, some with nice pictures, some with dollar amounts, etc. Just search Casino / Chips / Sets and keep on scrolling.
Unfortunately you will not get good "feel" with any of these. (And they definitely are not clay, no matter what the auction says!) The better feeling cheap chips are the ones that are too boring for you (and me, too). So that's your choice at this price -- looks or feel.

speaking as someone who recently purchased a 'bargain set' (1000 faux clay dice chips for $77.69), i'd definitely recommend these. i played with the dice/suits for a couple years at friends houses, then i got these and the difference in feel is unbelievable. i really hate playing with the regular 11.5 gram dice chips now -- the faux clays may not LOOK too impressive (although my friends and i really like the colors like yellow and purple that you dont get with most dice sets), but the sound/feel is so much better i couldn't believe it.
