Bugsys Tournament!!!

Postby Replic » Mon Mar 01, 2004 10:36 pm GMT

I AM SO EXCITED RIGHT NOW! LOL!

Hehe... playing my first tourney ever on Bugsys. Play money, since I haven't put real money online yet. I am not only the chipleader for my table but for the entire tourney! (I'm Replic there too).

What an amazing rush! I just crushed this guy that was playing like a maniac. WHOO!

I cannot believe that my first tournament ever ends up me being on top. Just a mere 200 players left to go ;-)

Talk about speaking too soon. Just lost 10,000 in 12 hands- some guy is nearly up to me in chips too at my own table. Talk about bad luck, bad play, mixed in with bad cards! Hmph! I'm going to try and tighten my play up here.

Ugh.
That's right, ugh.

Stayed up till 11:20 playing, only 6 of us left. Chip leader over 2 mill, I'm right behind with 600,000 (ok, maybe not right behind, but I was 2nd place). I was playing strong, getting good cards, then my internet goes wacko for the rest of the night. I probably was cut out at 6th place, even though I was second strongest. Maybe even better ;-).

What a great tournament. It was fun, the players were chatty, good, and it was quite the challenge.

Now, I've asked before- does free money play matter? I know it doesn't when it comes to your typical free money game, but in a free money tournament, I saw a sharp contrast- mostly strong players last until the end. Now, does lasting that long in my first tourney, albeit free money, mean anything?

Good Job, and yes free money still matters. Much more so in the beginning of the tournament. Tons of wackos going all in left and right usually. Once you've gotten through 2/3rds of the players though it should be alot closer to real money play. If people have lasted this long and are still playing 2+ hours later they are usually pretty serious about winning.

GJ again.
