Can I fold?

Postby Hurricane Ham » Thu Apr 30, 2009 4:22 pm GMT

Villain is 34/6/1.7 over 100 hands, and hasn't seemed to get too out of line. Looser preflop, bit more normal post.

PokerStars Game #27669702660: Hold'em No Limit ($0.25/$0.50) - 2009/04/30 16:08:52 ET

Am I just seeing monsters under the bed since my last three sets have gone down to straights? Is it possible to find a fold here, even though it feels so patently wrong to be folding a set on the flop? In my experience at NL50, if someone is 4betting anywhere, they've got it 99 times out of 100. With a higher end VPIP, QJ is most definitely in his range. There's also probably a bunch of KsXs where X=Q or J, but it seems they would be more inclined to shove4bet rather than leave some behind.

And raise more preflop isn't really what I'm looking for here.

No way you can fold. More than likely they have a pair and a straight draw or AK/A10.

I'm glad you actually consider the possibility of being beat here hammy, cos 95% of people here wouldn't even think it and would just be "oo baby, set of kings arr in"...

But yeh , give him the pile, and dont feel bad about it if he has QJ and u don't get there.

You should reraise more than the minimum so that you can pot commit yourself and call. I don't like the gay rr to $14. Make it bigger rr and call the shove all day long.
