Cash Games

Postby tutubird » Sun Apr 30, 2006 6:21 pm GMT

Hey, I have just recently started to purchase and read poker books. I have read Theory of Poker and reading Harrington on Hold-em, they are great books. Although I was wondering if there are any recomendations on the subject of NL cash games?

"Winning Small Stakes Holdem" by Sklanksy is a good read. It's more cash games in general as opposed to just NL, but still a good book.

Truth be told, there are really no great books out there for NL cash games. Doyle's section is oversimplified, TJ's book is so-so, and Hellmuth's is a total joke. I've heard Sklansky and team are coming out with a book and Daniel Negreanu and a few others are releasing some sort of Hold'em Bible that will have a big NL section for cash games.

Until then, experience is the best teacher.

I recommend that you pick up Pot-limit & No-limit poker, by Reuben and Ciaffone. It's not only Holdem in it, but it's a book that's definitely worth reading.
