CHAMPIONSHIP! Fantasy Football final table... chop?
So, once again, I have made the Championship game of my fantasy football contest with a bunch of co-workers. I'm really happy this year again, as I busted out my personal nemesis...a real bitch of a punter. Either way, here's the deal... first place: $300. Second place $125. Buy-in: $50. So, based on y'alls practical knowledge of # +EV and intuitive odds... would you chop in my position or play out this heads up contest? If chop, how much do I offer and what's the "breaking point/no chop point?"
Here's our matchup....
my team......................his team
QB Tony Romo @ Carolina......Tom Brady @ Mia
WR Terrell Owens @ Car.......Greg Jennings @ Chi
WR Brandon Marshall @ SD.....Larry Fitzgerald @ Atl
RB Earnest Graham @ SF.......Lendale White @ NYJ
RB Adrian Peterson @ Was.....Fred Taylor @ Oak
TE Jason Witten @ Car........Antonio Gates @ Den
K Mason Crosby @ Chi........S. Gostkowski @ Mia
D Indianapolis @ Hou........New England @ Mia
Bonus: I also have Deion Branch as a wide receiver and the Jaguars D (vs. Oak.)...

$212.50 would be a fair chop, if you were to win your contest, you'd only make $77.50 more, but if you lose, you drop $87.50.
If you believe both your teams to be evenly matched, take the chop. If not, either play the game/negotiate a deal slightly more in your favor.

Tough call. Looks like you've got a lot of eggs in that Dallas basket. A bad game from Romo and you are screwed. I'd offer a 50/50 split. If he doesn't like it, GO COWBOYS!
p.s. I'm in the championship in my league too. But, I've got Brady AND Peterson. Bwahahahaha!

A friend of mine send out an e-mail to our mates distribution list saying that Duke Nuke ‘em Forever looks like it might be released soon.
This spurred a joke about slash dot losing one of their oldest and dearest running gags.
Which made me think. Apart from [i]â€

our group is neither active nor clever enough to come up with that much. we each have our easily identifiable quirks eg:
Mystery poster 1
boob joke
awkward reference to beerwench's rack
lolol
We need someone to get brilliant at mspaints and be "that" guy.

Romo sprained his thumb last week and is only 'lobbing passes' thru Weds practice this week. If he is limited, you lose 2 of your top 3 in him and TO. On top of that, AP hasn't been great the last 2 games (78 yards Mon night wasn't good, the 2 TD's saved the day for him) so you have questions for all 3 of your 'studs'
I take the split w/ your team.

I've decided to not go for the chop, and compete. I'm really excited here... haven't really focused on poker at all for the last few days. Lately, I have been just scouring information on the games most likely to affect me... notably the New England/Miami game. I pray for cold, rainy wet weather in Foxboro. I think it'll give me a good shot to win this thing.
Also, I'd been watching Tony Romo's thumb issues.. and they seem to be cleared up now. And, I was following some of the Terrell Owens comments, but it seemed to me that they were all tongue-in-cheek... so probably not that much of a distraction.
