Chip colors= what denominations?

Postby jwrussell » Mon Jun 28, 2004 11:58 am GMT

OK, I'm sure this has been gone over before, but I did a search and couldn't find it. I'm looking for a fairly definintive (I know it varies some) list of what colors typically go with what denominations. For instance, I know that in most casions Green=$25 and Black=$100. From here I'm looking for a good list that takes me anywhere from .50 up through $10,000. Anyone care to take shot? :D

I set mine up the way Foxwoods does it, which may or may not be how others do it.

$1 - white
$5 - red
$25 - Green
$100 - Black
$500 - Purple

Now I don't have these colors, but it goes on like this.

$2 - Yellow
$1000 - Orange
$5000 - Gray

And I think that they use a solid green chip for $10,000 but I'm not sure.

Post above is pretty much the standard deal, but do note that about half the world uses blue for $1 as well. (My preference, actually.) I think that's because the 1's are used the most and the white ones show the dirt in the casino so badly.

Also, I've seen $5 yellows and $10 browns. Just about every $25, $100, and $500 I've ever seen were green, black, and purple, repectively. I personally own three different colors of $1000 chip (casino, retired): orange (neon), orange (pale), and pink. Almost all $1000 chips are 43 cm and won't fit into your standard rack. Hey, who'd ever have enough to rack 'em?
