Community Cards

Hi, i started learning texas holdem poker, but there is one thing i didn't understand was the community cards. I understood the community cards are dealt on the table face up, but i didn't understand what am i going to do with them. Any help?

This is really so big its hard to explain.

Basically, in holdem you try to make the best 5 cards hand from the 7 cards available to you : Your two hole card + the 5 community cards.

What's more, everyone can use any of the community cards in their hand. For example:

Hand 1: Ad As
Hand 2: Kd Ks

Board: 2h 4h 9h Qh Jh


In this case, both players would use the five community cards to make their best hand (Q-high flush).
