Compiled Holdem No-Limit Rules & Tips On Hosting A Tourn

Postby K-rug » Thu Feb 12, 2004 1:17 pm GMT

Below you will find a link to a compiled list of No-Limit Texas Hold'em Rules that I have made public since 2003. Feel free to save them and print them out and use it as a guideline for your own rules and redistribute them. I only ask one thing, if you use these drop me a PM or e-mail and let me know. It's a bit insulting to be surfing other poker sites and see your work copied verbatim down to the very enumeration I use and have someone call it their own without so much as a thanks. But with that, enjoy and do with them what you will.

»Compiled No-Limit Texas Hold'em Rules as of 7-19-2005.

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader because I have things organized into sections with bookmarks for easier navigation. The sections are:

PREFACE
SUGGESTIONS FOR HOLDING A TOURNAMENT* (updated 7-19-05)
  • Changed #15 to be correct for No-Limit play
HOW TEXAS HOLD'EM WILL BE PLAYED* (updated 7-19-05)
  • Changed #1 to be correct for No-Limit play
  • Changed #3 to be correct for No-Limit play and re-worded things better
  • Changed #5 to be correct for No-Limit play
  • Changed #10 to read a little more clearly
START TIME AND BREAKS
CONDUCT CODE
POKER ETIQUETTE
TOBACCO USE
DECISIONMAKING
PROCEDURES
SEATING
THE FEES/BUY-IN
PRIZES* (updated 7-19-05)
MISDEALS
DEAD HANDS
IRREGULARITIES
BETTING AND RAISING* (updated 7-19-05)
  • Updated #4
SIDE BETS
ALL-IN
THE SHOWDOWN
TIES
KICKER
BUTTON AND BLIND USE
BUTTON AND BLIND USE WITH THE FINAL TWO PLAYERS
RULES FOR USING BLINDS

I hope this helps those of you looking to start your own home tournaments. Feedback is always welcome.

Ya, I k-rug hasn't posted in over a year, I don't think we're going to get an update.

So I'll just plug THP's own rules section...

http://www.texasholdem-poker.com/rules

...and unsticky this thread. Thanks for the heads up NH.

My apologies guys. Changed jobs. Had two kids. Life has been busy. I have been working on a labor of love over the few years. I have been writing a new Universal NL Texas Hold'em rule book with definitions and explanations for scenarios with pictures. It will also contain explanations for a lot of rules instead of regurgitating things like "Any wager must be at least the size of the previous bet or raise in
that round, unless a player is going all-in." I will explain why and give an example so there will be doubt left in anyone's mind. My goal is to knock it out this year.
