Confused who wins this hand???

Hi All,

The other day while playing with some friends, we ending up in this situation. 2 players are left, one has a pair of 2s the other has an Ace and a 3 card.

On the table are a pair of 7s and a pair of Kings and a 5 card.

Who wins this? and why?

A3 wins

hold em is the best 5 card hand, using any possible combination of 5 cards, you can use either both cards from your hand, only 1 card, or even zero cards from your hand. Therefore, the best possible 5 card hands for each player are:

Player A:
7 7 K K A (using 4 cards from the board, and the Ace kicker from his hand)

Player B:
7 7 K K 5 (using zero cards from his hand, also called "playing the board". The pair of deuces dont play because 2 pair of kings and sevens are a better hand than kings and deuces, or deuces and sevens)

You pull out a gun you brought with you, he’s unarmed.

He runs down another alley and you chase him. There you find two tanks.

He gets into one.

…Now I know it’s unfair, I know you had him out gunned but the situation has changed. Crying about the fact that you had a gun when he had nothing wont stop him blowing you to pieces. You either get in the tank or die trying to explain how your gun is still part of this battle.

I know it’s a tangent but this is how I feel every time I heart a 3 pair post.

C'mon dude, it didnt seem like a troll post, not everyone is internet friendly and searches enough, but no reason to try to make a seemingly innocent post turn into something ugly.

Half the time I myself dont even respond to these types of posts, but yesterday I felt nice so I replied. Oh well.
