Could/Should I have Got Away From This Hand?

Postby Sentinel » Fri Mar 28, 2008 9:52 pm GMT

Or was I destined to get run over?

Was only the 2nd game so no major reads but he appeared depserate to take the pot down so I put villain on a missed AQ/AK or pockets JJ+ (but not AA).

If I don't get that all in on the turn I am doing something wrong imo.

Thx guys. In hindsight I wondered if I should have been more aware so am glad it's standard.

I didn't overpush as I thought I was well ahead and knew I'd get his chips. If he was pushing with K9 then he may have folded.

Set over set. Horrible. Horrible.

Things like set over set, Kings vs. Aces, etc. are all things that are going to play out the same way every time pretty much. Just remember, you are going to be on winning or losing side of these predestined hands an equal amount of times in the long run. So in the long run, they will basically be a wash.

I think this is all fine. At first I thought a raise on the Turn might have been a good play for safety but 23, 2x and 3x look unlikely. The flush draw doesn’t look likely either because he bet a rainbow board and Ax suited a popular flush option. Maybe 78club was a risk.

Anyway not really adding anything, I’m busting here too.
