Country of residence

Postby mindgame » Mon Oct 02, 2006 4:04 pm GMT

okay...I deposit my funds through a netteller account say...
how does any site know in which country I reside? If they don't ask, wouldn't they be fine--in other words, just make sure they are dealing with a financial institution not based in the US. Couldn't I just tell them I live at Guantanamo or something, and my residence is, at this point, a matter of speculation? What do they care?

It's one thing to torture detainees, but they wouldn't actually prevent them from playing poker, would they???

I mean, that would be cruel.

IP tracing is not effective, if you trace my ip I finish somewhere in Washington (yes I'm an AOLer :) )

I know when I signed up on Party I had to give my UK driving license or passport number as part of the security check, the same on Prima sites. On other sites I could have put "The Moon" as my address and prolly still signed up.

TBH, I really don't know how they would check, or if they would even bother?

I think I did have to provide an addy and phone number (at pp), althoughtI suppose I could just say I moved to Via Rusticucci 129, Roma, Italia (next door to where my daughter lives and neighbors with Il Papa). Why not? And my phone? Well come one...it's Italy. It could take years to get a phone.

Which reminds me...on one site (I think it Royal Vegas, where I opened an account about two years ago to get into a freeroll for THP members and then logged on too late to play, but of course that's another story and I always have another story...) where was I???

Oh yeah...at Royal Vegas my country of residence is the Vatican. They didn't object. My name is BennyXVI, too, and that even flew.
