Damn Cars
Mine broke down just as I was leaving work on Friday
So I had to get it towed to a garage then get a train home from Slough to Newport (about 100 miles) with my suitcase, suitbag and laptop bag.
It could have been a lot worse though. Trains were surprisingly quiet for a bank holiday weekend and even though I needed to do a change it was on time and there was only a 10 minute wait.
Car prognosis isn’t too bad. Guy said it sounds like it’s firing on 3 rather than 4 cylinders and the engine light is on so it might be the engine management system. But I don’t really know anything about cars. As long as they can fix it and it’s not ludicrously expensive I’ll be happy.
Although I’m not looking forward to the return trip tomorrow with all my sh*t again

I just brought one but it wasn't new (made Jan 03). I've had it for 6 month.
Yea working so far from home can be a real pain in the arse sometimes. I also discovered my break down cover was only for recovery (<10 miles)

my friend is with the AA, it sounds pretty mint, he pays something like 20 quid for the year and gets a 24/7 roadside mechanic. Plus it dosn't even have to be his car, so even covers him if someone else gives him a lift.
i've got to dismantle my engines top end this sunday to refit my cam chain which is going to be a bitch. Its such a love/hate thing for me mechanics
