Re: DC's New Blog
It really helped me when i was being staked, cause as part of the agreement, I had to show every hand that won / lost me more than 20% of my stack and every hand I went bust on.xDiamond_CutteRx wrote: I may work out a deal with a buddy of mine to stake me in some of the local games--never had a backing arrangement, but it might be a way of controlling the really negative emotions I've tended to experience with downswings.
As i had to explain myself to 'the board' it really made me think about the hands I was l playing and the reasons why. It brought my game on heaps and bounds.

Well, I just finished my last official act of grad school and I've had no luck with summer school positions. Guess I had better make sure I still know this Poker thing.

What does this mean......
Was the statement just "a line", or are you seriously thinking this?
. If you are seriously having these type of thoughts, you are gonna fail , cause your attitude isn't right.xDiamond_CutteRx wrote:.....Guess I had better make sure I still know this Poker thing.

Oh I was only half serious. You know how I am.
Anyway, I fired up Stars tonight for the first time since January... wow a lot has changed with the tables. Anyway, although it has frustrated me in the past, according to my records, PLO actually earns me a pretty decent hourly rate, so I 4-tabled 25PLO for a little while... up a little more than two buy-ins (or four at the 50 BB max tables, which there seem to be a lot of). I'll take it slow, try to be honest about my play, and see what happens. I might play a little bit live to mix it up, but I don't want to play above what I'm comfortable with at the moment. The good news is, I seem a little more relaxed now that a lot of my other worries are out of the way.

Re: DC's New Blog
In the swing of things:
Been playing PLO the last few days. Some good, some bad, some very frustrating as per usual. Online was interesting for a bit, but with my new lifestyle (more exercise, less computer), I don't think I can just sit around the house all day. The bottom line is I'm up $130 after claiming my stellar reward thingy. Not a bad little haul, should pay for my gas for my road trip to San Diego in July.
Graduation was this weekend, so I cleared a few hundred bucks in presents. I will probably invest a little playing live--there are a few new cardrooms around here anyway. Let's see if live can hold my attention and interest better than online, because I'm about ready to cash out after only one weekend.

Maybe quit grinding online now? It seems like it's not worth it ultimately and it sounds like your life is better without it.

Yeah, grinding is fun for like 3 days and then it's, well, a grind.
I'll see how live Poker treats me sometime this week probably.
