Dealt pocket Aces twice in a row last night!
Almost fell out of my chair! Anyway, whats the odds to all the math people out there? Best part is, they held up both times. Worst part, was playing 1/2 limit. Why can't I get hands like that in the sit n go's?

odds of being dealt any pocket pair at any time is 220 to 1.
i'm not sure how the addition of odds works... lol... so for twice in a row maybe something like 440 to 1 ??? LOL.
at any rate... for each of your two hands it was 220 to 1 that you'd get the AA's

I'm pretty sure you multiply in this case so 48400 to 1 maybe? I don't think that's right either.
Anyway, I got AA twice in 3 hands.... I busted out the second time to guy that caught a pair on both the turn and the river (no, i didn't slow play)

I'm sure you saw my thread about how I was dealt aces three hands in a row. and hit an ace on the flop in two of those hands.
Uncanny luck that I have yet to repeat.

The other night i was dealt AA 3 times in the space of about half an hour, i doubled thru with the 1st 2 and seriously considered dumping the 3rd time i got them, cos i seriously doubted they could hold up a 3rd time.
I didn't dump them of course, and they didn't hold up of course

I was playing in a 10 man NL game. The guy at the end of the table slow played his Aces and got burned. Very next hand, I get dealt Aces, he acted before me and went all-in. I couldn't have been happier I figured he was on tilt, so I called. He flipped his cards over, pocket aces again.

Of course this is for two specific hands. The odds of being dealt AA back to back for two if you play more than two hands are:
1-[(48841/48842)^n] where 'n' equals the number of hands you play minus one (you have to play more than one hand to be dealt AA back to back).
So if you've play 40K hands or more it's actually probable that you will get AA back to back at some point.

its 48841 if you say "Ok whats the probabitity of getting pocket aces the next two hands" But if you sit down and play 500 hands, the chances are much much greater. Out of every 48841 hands you play, you will average back-to-back pocket aces once.

Do those calculations take into account that there's 6 different variations of pocket aces? eg. A
A
, A
A
and so on. If not, it makes the chances of getting AA back to back than those calculations.

Yes.
Probability of getting pocket aces:
Probability of first card being an A = 4/52
Probability of second card being an A = 3/51
Multiply those two numbers and you'll get about 1/220
