Did I make a bad call here?
Simple version
I had 78 spades flop came two spades he check I bet 4x bb he called
same on turn he checked then called my bet 8x bb,
on river I hit my flush he checked I made my bet 12x bb he re raised me AI His AI bet was roughly equal to the pot.
I called he had the nut flush .... I should of folded here right? I had him on 2 pair or possibly a set didn't think he was calling my bets on a draw
Edit this was a cash game online

I now have a headache.
How much was in the pot on the river when you had to call his all-in bet? (cause that's what your asking right?)

I would copy the HH but have no access to email I used to create the account
Well I thought the simplified version had all the pertinent info .
Here is the long version
game .01/.02
my chip stack 12.38 (from a $3 buy in )
C/O is my position
The villain in this hand just sat at the table 3-4 hands back bought in for $2 is down about .75 .80 or so
4 people see the flop (pot .08)
Flop is K
10
4
sb check bb checks MP checks
I bet 4x the bb .08 SB folds BB folds MP calls
turn A
(pot is .24)
MP checks I bet .16 8X bb MP calls
river J
pot is now .40
so on board we have
K
10
4
A
J
MP checks I bet .24 mp calls .24 and raises .64 to make it .88 now theres 1.28 in pot will cost me .64 to call.

Now this hand though it mean nothing really kinda just stuck under my skin. I feel like I played it badly
On the other hand though I can't believe he kept calling my bets on a draw.
Yet I feel I should of known my flush was garbage when he went AI on river re raise

Re: Did I make a bad call here?
Well, for a start you limp, so anyone could have anything. Could we assume from the stakes this is still the case? Yes. Granted I probably wouldn't put him on premium hand, but we now know he didn't have a premium hand, so that assumption is correct.
So, at this stage, lets look at his possible holdings.Could he be on a flush draw? Yes. Could he be on a flush draw better than yours? Yes, could he be on straight draw? yes, Could he be on a straight flush draw? - Yes. Could he be holding AK or AT? Probably not AK, but deffinatley AT. So, to recap, at the mo, there are a lot of hands that are beating yours and the cards we don't want to see on the turn are any Ace, Queen or Jack. Do we want to encourage action if we get a spade on the turn. Probably not, because he could be holding two spades and if he is, they are likely to be better than yours.
Looking at his possible holdings from the flop, has his hand improved? Not if he is chasing a flush, but yes if he was chasing a straight or had AT.
So, by you betting, you are going to win a small pot, or lose a big one. Should you bet. Imo nope.
If you were willing to bet on the turn them I'm guessing you think you have the best hand. Therefore you have to call this as your hand beats his. Would I bet on the river? No.
Granted, he took a chance with the nut flush checking on the river, but he saw you bet on every street, so i'm guessing it could be a reasonable assumption to guess you would bet the river as well.
So he had the nut flush, but what was his other card?
So he has approx 1.15 left in his stack. Are we willing to lose 1.15 from our stack with a pretty shitty flush if we hit on the turn or river and get called? (cause if we get called we are probably beaten) On a 01.02 cash table i don't recon thats a good enough pay off.Northern Hillbilly wrote:I bet 4x the bb .08 SB folds BB folds MP calls

Ok, if he has a hand, he will call no matter what you bet. If he doesn't have a hand, he will fold.Northern Hillbilly wrote:MP checks,

Re: Did I make a bad call here?
I don't remember what his second card was it was low. My bets on flop and turn were not cause I thought I had best hand I bet only cause he checked and I had a flush draw . I had him k4 or 1010 or JQ .
To be honest I was leaning toward the K4. Figured if he had had K10 or JQ he would of been betting on the turn.
When he raised AI was pretty sure it WAS K10 possibly the straight that he had. So I fully expected a call on river I didn't believe he had a flush. I couldn't believe he called those bets with nothing but a draw. I made em with only a draw but making a bet and calling a bet are 2 different things.
But yeah I should of folded.
