buttstar was playing ATC, i was hoping another dollar or so more might push him out of my hand.

If your trying to get someone off of a hand, min raise won't do it too often. You'll need to raise it more.

You don't look like too big of a donk here. If the butt guy would have stayed in and rivered both of you, then he would have been a bigger donk...

Don't minraise. It's a bad habit, raise a proper amount or fold preflop.

Your bet on the flop is way too small. Make it like 2/3-3/4 of the pot. that way you can shove the turn and make it look a bit more "normal".

No, you did!

First, there is a difference between a player WHO calls with ATC then one that raises.
If he infact raises with ATC then I might sometimes be willing to get stacked with AJs. But then if you REALLY feel you are miles ahead of his range PF might as well put a lot of money in PF. especially being OOP.
So if you are going to 4B, making it big. Very big.

I suspect that this player simply calls a lot. So when a player like that raise, it usually means he thinks he has a good hand. AJ is simply not good enough against most good hands.

Sorry MrD. I'm getting lost in some of the terminology I think. I find myself in this situation quite often so I would like to understand this a bit more. I think you are saying he should have raised more preflop... I get that. But I dont understand what you mean about the difference between calling with ATC or raising with ATC (mainly what is ATC Ace ten clubs?). I understand you need to have a stronger hand to call with than to raise with.

You didn't play it that bad at all. Maybe raise a bit bigger preflop.
