Difference in strategy between no-limit offline/limit online
I have only ever played poker with my friends offline around a table with 4-8 guys are generally loose every time but have a fun time doing it. We always do no limit winner takes all and play untill someone wins the whole pot.
I have read every link on this site, and for what I can tell this site is mostly just a front for pokerstars but I hope I can get some answers for both styles of play.
I would like to continue in my search for knowledge on texas holdem on the internet in making some money. Nothing big, but a nice supplemental income to my currently unemployed self would be quite nice (I do realize potentially unrealistic as most online poker players seek this as well)
I don't want to go to Casinos or try to win tons of money from my friends. My goal is not a lot of money, but a little bit of money.
I also love the math, strategy and fun of texas hold em.
I would really like to make money onine in the limit texas games but would want to start beating my friends in no-limit games.
I understand there is different strategies for each of these.
My question asks if these strategies are vastly different or only a little bit different, is it best to focus on one type of game or does it really not matter so much, what are the chances of making some extra money online (like $50-75 a week would be nice) if one pins down the strategy, and what resources are best devoted to this? Books etc.
Thank you. This is my first post. I've installed pokerstars as my friends recommend that as well as this site.

Don't bother trying to play small stakes limit online. I doubt anybody can beat the rake, let alone a beginning player. Stick to learning how to play NL. And to answer your question, yes there is a slight difference in strategy between NL offline and Limit Online. And by slight, I mean f*cking huge.

When I first started playing online I tried playing low stakes FL tables. I have to agree with Crack here. I find and I am sure others will agree that with limit you don't find serious players till you get into higher stakes ($1/$2 FL and up).
As for learning strategies...read and play. Several players will tell you they have never read a book. Good for them I say but I myself want every edge I can get (and damn do I need them...lol). More then anything I think you have to play to learn...which means your paying for lessons.,.

Well it's not that you can't beat a beginning player. I think you misunderstood. What I am saying is even I can't beat the rake in these small games I don't think, so what chance has a beginning player got?
