Doesn't this line turn out hand into a bluff? Why not lead out flop or C/C flop?

Seems like a clear fold to me as played.

theres stuff like this around. 88 isn't that bad a hand but calling with like <66 or 77 OOP from a CO opener is a leak if they're any good

Not as much as you think. People don't just stack off to sets the way they used to.

yes i am aware but u only need to get him to stack off with AA KK half the time to make this a +ve call preflop

ye pretty much fold pf
vs late position open his range is just too wide to go for set mining
and on that flop just give up as again that flop will hit a lot of his range

everytime you had an option in this hand the correct play was fold, except maybe the flop is ok with some historiez
