Don't Put Your City on Your Chips

Postby lwestatbus » Tue Jan 03, 2006 1:29 pm GMT

Passing on a hard lesson learned.

One of my most prized possessions is a set of 1400 RPT NexGen poker chips with Nautical/Florida themed labels that I designed, printed, and applied myself. Chips read:

Top Line 1: "Larry's Banana River"
Top Line 2: "Card Room"
Bottom: "Satellite Beach, FL"

Wife decided we needed to move to the Indian River in Merritt Island, FL. I'm thinking of making the changes with a magic marker. Ugh.

Sheesh! Isn't that one of the advantages of labels? They can be replaced?
It's going to be a bit of an exercise, you do have the option of printing labels with the new city. After all, it's not an inlay that is permanently bonded to the chip. A little work and everything will look like new. And if the task seems a bit overwhelming, transitition a bit at a time, kind of like a casino phasing in new chips

Yeah. Fortunately the waterproof labels from Online Labels peel off in one piece. I think that what I'll do is have games and have the other players peel labels while we play. Have to wait until we close on the new place first.
