Edge Spots... Do-It-Yourself ??
i know that on the mass produced chips the edge spots appear to be part of the actual chip... meaning that the edge spot is actually composit materal and part of the chip itself.
however... on many of these custom chips... new and old school alike... the edge spots appear to simply be painted on. is this indeed the case? if so... shouldn't one be able to create their own edge spots on their chips if they don't already have them?
here's what i'm talking about when i say it looks like on some chips the edge spots are painted on...
what do y'all think?

It's easy enough to do- take a piece of cardboard, lay 50 chips on it, take another piece of cardboard with just the pieces of edges that you want paint cut out, spray, let dry, do other side, repeat. 1000 chips done in just an hours work
(No, I didn't try this, it just occured to me as a neat idea. My chips came with edge spots.)

If you wan't edge spots, buy chips with edge spots. Although I have never tried it myself I have this feeling that although it seems like a simple enough task, actually marking your own chips and getting quality results will take more time and effort than it's worth. You'll spend more time and money trying to do it yourself than simply buying the more expensive chips with marks to begin with. At least that's my thoughts on this, though like I said I've never tried it myself so I could be wrong.

Oh God don't!!!
Those chips have the edge spots dyed in and baked on. I've seen a set of chips that a guy decided to "decorate" with edge spots of his own. They look terrible. Even though he tried to be careful they looked absolutely tacky...then the spots started to "bleed" and they looked worse every time he dragged them out.
As a chipper, it sort of made me want to cry.
