Flush
When 2 or more have a flush you go by who has the higher flush. Therfore Ace high flushes are the best. But what if A K 10 is on board and I hold J and 4, and my opponant holds the Q? I thought we would split becasue we both made a flush but since we are both using the A, our hand value ties. Am i incorrect and could somone direct me to some sort of official resource that proves your answer? Thanks

to clarify, if the board is AKQ (diamonds) rag, rag
You Hold J/3 diamonds opponent holds 7/2 diamonds you would win.
The latter of ninjas post where he talks about a slilt would be if the board was all diamonds and neither of you held a diamond
ex. same board but you have J/3 spades, opponent had 7/2 clubs
hope it helps

The only time you split a pot is when the board has a higher flush such as, AKQJ8 of diamonds, you hold the 6 and someone else the 5 you split it, or if neither of you have diamonds and its a board full of diamonds or, if the board is AK985 and you have no diamonds and he has the 3 you split because he cant beat the board flush. Now if you hold the 9 and he holds 8 and the flush on the board cant beat yours, you win. If who ever had the highest card in the flush, such as a 10 and someone the 7 and someone else the 6 and the board has the Ace of diamonds you cant all split the pot, because what would really be the point of a flush?
