Foam vs carpet padding???
Iv got all the materials together to build my poker table (96" x 42")all i have left to buy is the padding, iv seen guys on here saying carpet padding worked fine as well as padding used for car roofs, and of coarse high desity foam. My question is what is the overall #1 choice??
I also just had another thought, how has everyone handled the dealing in a home game with the oval table, if you pass the deal how does the player at the far end get the cards to players at the other end?
Thank you for all the helpful tips and answers to all the questions that i have asked on this forum you guys(and gals) are very generous and someday when i gain enough knowledge i will try to help others as you all have.

I used a closed cell foam for the reason that it wont absorb moister (spills). With the accident prone people I play with, the choice was obvious!

i think carpet padding might be okay but it's kinda chunky... meaning it's not one solid piece of foam... it's like a bunch of little chunks of foam that is glued into a big sheet.
it might make for a funny feel under the felt/cloth.
best bet is to go with a HD foam. get it loacaly... it'll be cheaper and they'll cut you one big sheet to size instead of having to get multiple sheets from an online retailer.
