folding QQ PF

Postby MrDarling » Fri Jan 11, 2008 3:03 am GMT

Hi ,

This happened the other day in a live MTT.
About 42 players, €50+€10 BI.
Starting stack 5000. Blinds 25/50 20min levels.
[edit]levels are not 10min but 20min[/edit]
Haven't played in this event for a long while, but from what I remember most players are loose passive.

First level I get QQ in EP. Raise to 200.
An aggressive girl reraise to 700 , Guy behind her announces a reraise.

1. How do we love our QQ now?

Now it gets even more interesting. The guy who announced a raised tosses a 1000 chip in. And the table decides its just a call (I was too concerned about my hand to notice their mistake)

Does anyone calls and try to play QQ OOP vs 2 players?
Does anyone raises?

Hero folded btw.

I can't find a reason to call down here if it really is loose passive.

I don't make a habit of folding QQ but here is another spot I'd consider it.

Not sure what I'd do at a loose passive table, but generally when it's early in the tournament (large stack to blind ration) I fold QQ- and AKs- to multiple reraises.

well I did fold.

Like I said the guy who want to reraise was forced to call. Flop was all babies. Aggressive girl bet and guy fold. Both claimed to have AK.
I kept my mouth shut and was just amazed on someone wanting to 4B AK so early.
needless to say I out lasted both.

Raise vs. Call

Postby lwestatbus » Thu Jan 24, 2008 1:44 pm GMT

I'm amazed that they allowed the player to treat his 1,000 toss-in as a call after verbally announcing a raise. That is just wrong.

they actually forced him to make it a call.

I was too busy with my tough decision to comment on this, though I did tell them that he should have min raised after his miss toss.

It was a table decision thing, no one official was summoned as the kid who wanted to raise didn't make a fuss.
