Four of a king and Full house question.

Postby aquila828 » Wed Feb 06, 2008 10:09 pm GMT

If there is four of a kind on the table and makes it the best possible hand for all players, so, does it count to use the hole cards as kicker to determine the winner????

This sort of the same question goes to the full house. If the table cards has a three of a kind while all player's hole card forms the pair for the fullhouse. Can the highest pair be considered the winner??? is it legal to use the pair as a kicker???

Actually, when I play with my friends.... I always tell them that there is no kicker on on fullhouses and four of a kind, because for me the other cards are just suppliment and not complimentary.

I just hope I made the right declaration or I'll get my a** kicked.... hhahahaha...

Thanks in advanced guys

Yes, kickers count with four of a kind.

In all cases the best 5 card hand wins. If the board shows 2222x the player who has the highest hole card (that is better than the X) would win. If two players share the best hole card that beats X it is split. In all cases only 5 cards are used to form the hand.

If the board is 2222A the board is the best hand possible, in this example even someone holding AA would split with 34.

In cases were a full house is on the board, a winner can hold a better full house or the pot is split.

AAAKK

Unless someone has an Ax or KK this is a split pot.

AAA22

Someone holding 33 would beat the board, outside the 4th A, KK would be the best hand possible.

A pair is never a kicker, but in cases of multiple full houses where the trips are the same, the pair does play.

AAAKQ

A player with Kx would beat a player with Qx.

5 is the magic number

You can't hold 3 pairs (6 card hand).

You can't hold only 4 of a kind (4 card hard).

It always has to be 5.

The FAQ doesn't really address 4 of a kind on the board or I think his fullhouse question.

Is it possible a newer player, the sort that might find his way to posting in the Beginner's Question section of a forum, might not fully appreciate that sentence without having follow up questions?
