Full Tilt vs PokerStars

Postby AHBrownell » Wed Apr 23, 2008 1:16 pm GMT

I'm thinking about moving over to pokerstars. What do you all think are the pros/cons for playing on either of these sites. It seems like the promotions are a bit better on PokerStars, but I've heard the games are pretty brutal. However, lately the games on FT seem to be pretty poor also.

Just as a little background.... I 12 table at Full Tilt at .5/1 NL and 1/2 NL.

Cheers.

At 100 and 200 NL with your table volume it may be worth it to go with Stars. There's been some calculations on the 2p2 forums that will tell you yay or nay. From what I remember you've got to be at least PlatinumStar to make it better, maybe even Supernova.

Depends if you prefer cash incentives (Full Tilt RB) or "free" stuff (PStars Store).

I think the games are softer on Stars though ... from my experience at the micros.

Depends on your volume. If you are Supernova, you can get an effective rakeback higher than FTP. Its not just free stuff, you can get cash bonuses for points as well.

PS gave me $5 to play with for free. I found their site easy to use as far as software goes. Loaded with all kinds of fish and some damn lucky donks. All in all I can't say I favor one over the other. I think they are both decent sites with plenty of fish.

Hi,

I actually left FT about two month ago feeling the games was too tough to my liking and moved to UB. At UB I played up to $400NL but TBh honest I did pretty poorly.
To maintain my FT Iron man statue I started 12 tabling $100NL+$200NL and have to say I find it real soft.

I've never really played cash on PS, but from what I read the games on FT are as hard if not harder. However, I love FT software. I get Rakeback and with the new iron man medals I think their promotions are well worth my time.

I have to say UB's promo's also rock, however the real problem is there are never enough tables to play and though the software is the fastest I've seen (ie more hands per hour) it still have tons of flows that simply make the game slightly less pleasant.
I was really on track on getting Icon statue on UB (which is the highest promotion possible) but I think I gave up on it.

Good luck, and if you do move over to PS, let us know how you progress.

Danny

for your limits and volume, Stars and its not even close

u will easily get to Supernova, and with the bonuses then and all the freerolls
+softer player base PS is clear choice.

I've been 8-9 tabling (FR) stars for the last couple of weeks, and I found it quite easy to build up a decent bankroll in a shortish amount of time. The software is very good, and I got to platinum star pretty quick, and the rewards for that are decent.

I've only played 100NL 6max a few times, but the players seemed pretty crap (actually seemed even worse than FR).

Thats wrong if you don't take into account how many hands/what stakes you are playing. I make more rakeback at supernova than my deal at FT.

I rather get money into my account each month and free shit (My 42" LCD TV and 24" monitor from full tilt) than just free shit. Just me personally.

The bonuses work out to be rakeback. Its money in your account.

Phil that was exactly what I was thinking! At supernova if you can keep a steady 30k VPPs per month you can get a $1500 bonus each and every month for many less hands than on FT.

I made the move to Stars. I'll keep you all updated.
