Full Tilt: Why less rake on big pots?

Postby mackkie » Sun Oct 15, 2006 1:27 am GMT

I was watching Dagostino Vs. Lindgren and someone else playing $200/400 PLOH and noticed that a $38,000 pot had less rake than a $52 pot i just won???

CrazyZachary wins the pot ($37,799) with a straight, Queen high
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $37,800 | Rake $1

Gor30 wins the pot ($52.45) with two pair, Jacks and Fives
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $55.20 | Rake $2.75

WTF?????? :?

Its not like the $38k pot was folded to someone pre-flop, they showed down their hands...I can come to no logical conclusion as to how that could happen.

Maybe because 5 people were in the pot pre-flop and only 3 were involved on the $38k hand. I am sorry, but that should be raked to the max every time...

Um the rake is less the less people in the hand i think . 2 ppl the max rake is $1 up to 3-6 ppl $2 and 7-10 $3. Or something like that

check out this : http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/rake.php
the rake is less as less people sit in a table (it doesn't matter how many people see the flop, it matters how many people get cards)

It is silly, I though FT will try to take a little bit more from a 38k pot, but guess its understandable - part of the effort to attract big players or something.
