I struggle to understand why people still play this game when they clearly have no brain. I asked him what the hell he was thinking. His response: "sometimes you have to go with your gut". And of course, rounds of "nh" and support followed. It's so frustrating. I've been good lately too. I have been just saying nh to idiots like this and moving on. For some reason this one got to me. I watched him for a bit after because I was hoping to get some satisfaction out of watching him waste chips. But NO, the guy tightens up and starts laying down pairs and draws. WHY! The one time he decides to be a moron it's me. :)

We was relatively foolish, but not crazy. You bet pot after the flop, he has 4 to the flush, implied pot odds are still there-if the 3rd player calls, then he for sure has pot odds.

Turn-You bet pot again, now he has made 2nd pair and still has his flush draw. Now can fairly confidently believe that he has 14 outs (9 flush, 3 9s, 2 10s). Plus, if you have been aggressive, he may thing that his pair of 10s are good.

River-he has you.

I cant argue with the way that you play, but if you want to bet people off hands, then make sure that it will REALLY cost him to see the river. Bet twice pot on the flop and all in on the turn. You kept bet enough to make a smart player fold. But w/ a larger stack, he could afford to pay for some extra cards, and he risked it. Play like that should catch up with him, but in your case, it didnt.

I think my turn bet should have been enough to get him to fold. Okay, maybe the flop was a little weak playing against maniacs, but no way he should have stayed in there on the turn for that raise (very nearly all-in). He really wasn't that committed and had to feel he was beat then. The implied odds and pot odds were gone at that point. On the river i had to push in. I was commited. I thought he had me with 2 pair or a set on the turn actually. :( I could have respected that. Seriously though, I think we are both way outhinking based on the comments this guy made after. He just called "because".

I'm over it now though. Had to vent and get some input.

I bet that if he didnt hit that 10 on the turn he would have been gone before the river.

Probably. I would have layed down even with the 10 if I was facing that bet. Second pair with crap kicker and only 1 card to a draw, I'm not willing to risk over half my chips on that unless I really think the guy is weak. That's me though. I'm not sure I would have called the first bet even. I'd probably give the guy credit for raising in early position, but that's way too advanced for these guys. :P If I stay in with 9ts I'm looking for a good flop or a cheap way to see more cards. These guys call off their stacks one bet at a time and don't care. They live for that one river beat.
