Got owned...
Well, here's one hand in which i got majorly owned (and also reinforced the idea that I'm not very good). No hard feelings, this isn't a river rat play, I simply got owned. Here's the hand.
Me: A 8 suited (about 2300 TC)
Him: ?? (about 2500 TC)
I raise to 75 before the flop. He calls.
Flop: J 4 J (rainbow)
I check. He checks.
Turn: J 4 J 9
I check. He checks behind me.
River: J 4 J 9 A
I raise to 350. He re-raises to 1000 TC. I put him on a bluff and call.
I flip A 8. Two pair, Aces up.
He flips A J. Full house, Jacks over Aces.
I immediately commended him on his play. I then went all-in with 5's (Down to about 700 TC, average is 2500) in a few hands, and lost when i got 2 callers and a bunch of overcards came. Oh well.
It was a good way to go out-The guy obviously knows his hold'em. Oh well, live and learn right?

i don't know that i woulda raised pre-flop with the A8suited unless i was one of the chip leaders (perhaps you were)... but sounds like you played the hand right to me (not that i'm anywhere near an expert). i'd have probably pegged him for the bluff too...

I'd've figgured he made the ace . . . I wouldn't try a bluff after checking that long. . . but the 3 jacks, that's rough. . .

Sup Ninja...... In this situation, if I flop trip Hooks, I am waiting for someone to catch up. Your early position does not help you here either. Usually the first loss is the best loss in a tournament game.
Lay them down, Save your chips, and pick up a bigger pot later.
p.s. Look for me next time im on, and we can play
