You can make a clay custom chip set (you pick the colors, edge spot, and center graphic) for roughly $0.95 each. ( www.pokerchips.com ) These prefab ones are going for over $1 each...i don't see why you would get these more expensive prefab chips.

Not wanting to wait until 2005 to get your chips would be one good reason.
Pokerchips.com is usually out 3-4 months to create a custom set

Good things

Postby Guest » Wed Sep 08, 2004 12:12 pm GMT

I have a set of Nevada Jacks Composites and I love them! Also I was reading a review about these chips and it seems like they are high quality chips. I was going to get some James Bond Chips (Still Might if no one does this buy with me) But I heard that they have a lot of imperfections. Worse comes to worse I might go for the NJ Martini's. (There's a discount on them right now.)

Here's a review on them.

You know what? I just might get the Horsehead design from Pokerchip.com. BUt I have heard some awful things with the Customer Service Dep. Pokerchip.com gets the chips from ASM right? MSPATTON, didnt u say that they were the best? So the pokerchip.com is probably a better go than the NEW NevadaJack Clays from Blue chip?

Why do you need to do a group buy on these? Looks like you can order sets of 25, no minimum.

Pokerchips.com is the internet retail store for Atlantic Standard Molding.
My opinion is their quality is tops in the industry.
And yes, there is quite a wait for custom sets from them, but if you
can wait it's probably worth it.

FMINUS,
If you like that design, $1.00 per delivered to you is an excellent price.
You will not be disappointed in those chips. They are the top of the line
from ASM. You can get them custom done for about the same price and
a 3-4 month wait. I myself have ASM chips and paid more than $1, but I
liked the design and they were available immeadiatly.

THANKS MSP

Postby FMINUS » Thu Sep 09, 2004 6:47 pm GMT

I got them down to 95 cents a piece delivered with no case or anything.
I was jsut wondering because with all the new chips coming in, Im thinking the prices of these chips would fall? Since the ASM's are still in production that is, not like the Paulsons are out of print, thats a different story. This is all speculation anyways because I dont know too much about chips and prices.

I have traded up 3 sets of chips already because I keep getting tired of them and want better ones. So I need the BEST. I really like the ones like MSPatton is displaying NJ Clays, but its a little too expensive for me.

I just really want a TOP OF THE LINE CHIP. Do you think I should pay 1.25 for NEW Horseheads? The ones in the link are from a casino and have been sitting on the shelf for 3 years. Even though they have never been used.

I currently own a set of Nevada Jacks Composites which I think are better than Chipcos (minus the texture).

I think most likely I'm going to keep the NJ's since they are AWESOME chips. I like them A LOT. But if anyone is willing to make me an offer that I cannot refuse, then that's another story.

Just weighing in...if that really is a chip from a casino that never opened and not what is commonly called a "fantasy" chip (from a casino that never was or never was going to be) I think you'd be okay at $.95 and they'd have some resale value. That's a fairly common mold that's been around for awhile and a high quality chip. They DO look great.

BTW, you could likely find out whether it's a fantasy chip or not on thechipboard.com, the official site of the Gaming Token and Chip Collectors organization.
