"Hand odds" calculation

I was looking for a programmatic or formulaic (which I dont think there is a straight formula for this) way to calculate the "hand odds" like they do on WPT, WSP, etc TV shows.

For example, they show 3 hands:

AKs
KK
10-J

and next to the hands is the percentage for each to be able to win the hand.

How do they do that?

Even Brute force looping through hands figuring out which hand cards improve a hand doesnt seem to be enough, it is like there is a lot more to it. I would like to know how those online hand calculators work, but so far am unable to do so on my own.

myself. So I know what is going on behind the scenes, and am able to do all the math.

Basically the only way to be precise is to calculate every possible board combination with those three starting hands available, and see what hand wins each time.

I would take those percentages shown on T.V. with a grain of salt.

Many times i've seen ESPN show percentages that are completely B.S.!!!

I think it's jus' fer da entertainment value.

I'm not saying all of their stats are wrong...jus' some of them on t.v....

From what I have seen, the odds are right on. The reason for some that dont look right might be that they could be taking mucked cards into consideration that may not get shown on TV.

For example, AK vs 66, but one K was mucked earlier. AK now has 5 outs instead of 6. In a normal game, you would never know this.
