Hand Range Analysis in Low Buy-In Tournaments

Postby lwestatbus » Tue Jan 19, 2010 12:30 am GMT

I've been trying (pretty unsuccessfully) to work on my hand reading skills including putting opponents on hand ranges in tournaments. I'm not doing great but a lot of the times when I'm waaayyy off it is with someone playing something completely stupid or stupidly such as cold calling with 83 offsuit or not raising a huge pocket pair. My tournament play is strictly limited to the Stars $2.20 satellites to the Sunday $1/4 million.

Any suggestions on how to work on this?

No, but I take extensive player notes and pretty quickly develop a view of the gross range of hands a player is willing to play as well as tentancies to bluff with marginal holdings.
